This was my second disc. I started with the disposable Flex disc (thanks to finding it in a local store). After using it for a few months I moved to the reusable Flex disc. While my husband hadn't complained it was uncomfortable, he had mentioned being able to feel it. Since Flex is considered one of the most firm, I was wanting to try something softer.
My periods are typically 4-5 days. The first day is CRAZY heavy, then a trickle after that. With the Flex, on the first day I have to have a panty liner. I WILL to have leaks on day one. I even had leaks with tampons on day one (stopped using due them them giving me horrible headaches, even the "clean" ones). Now back to Nixit. Here is my experience using it for two cycles.
Day one was one huge leak, even though it is the same size as my Flex. It was too soft for me to easily get the disk into place. It kept trying to scrunch up, instead of moving back. That made it really uncomfortable to get into proper position. I ended up having to push it from the back rim. Yes, it was still extremely leaky even when I had it properly positioned behind my pubic bone. I could feel it dump as I moved around.
Moral to the story, a firmer rim is necessary for my body. I still get day 1 leaks with the Flex disc, however they are minimal in amount. I also find it much easier to insert and remove.
Jessica J.
I really wanted to like it. I thought it would be bigger since that’s what was stated but it’s pretty much the same size as the Flex reusable one. The rim on it is what makes it so bad for me. It’s not stiff enough to make it easy to get in nice and then the bottom rim is too stiff on the underside and I had the hardest time getting it out like I’m talking I had to push out grab the top and bottom and pull and the mess oh my. I’m not new to using them I have been using disc for over 2 years now and this one was not easy to work with at all but it has the potential.

Have been a DivaCup user for almost 10 years, and have always loved it. Have also mostly been single for all those years, but had tried the disposable flex discs for intercourse during one short relationship. I found they were a bit too large and stiff to be really comfortable for me, but they did work; however I didn't like the waste after being a cup user for so long. Started dating someone recently, and because we're long distance I really didn't want to have to give up intimacy just because of my period, so decided to try the Nixit cup because I'd seen it all over Instagram. Fortunately I first tried inserting it while I was not on my period, and discovered that, like the flex discs, it was too large, but unlike the flex discs it was too soft to stay hooked behind my pubic bone. I think it's still a good product for the right person, but for a petite person it probably won't be your best choice. I have since tried discs with a smaller diameter that work much better for me.

this thing is the fucking tits. total game changer, for sure!

I used Lunette cup for 12 years but developed discomfort at the stiffness and felt it may have been contributing to cramps on painful cycle days. I've used Nixit disc for one cycle with no discomfort. It's soft and flexible. Insertion and emptying is a little different from cups and yes, there's a learning curve, but I've been able to wear it without leaks most of the time so far. Love that I cannot feel it at all while wearing and that the capacity is greater than my Lunette cup. I recommend wearing it with a pad or period undie to start and also have found that to seat it properly - that final nudge to get it in place - I actually have to be standing not sitting or deep squatting. Hope that helps.

This disc kept on slipping out when I was doing just normal daily things and then would dump and leak all of the time. I’ve used cups for about two years and after putting in a disc I don’t want to go back to one I just wish I could find one that worked for me.
Violet M.
This disc is a game changer! I have an extremely heavy period and I was changing my sckoon cup every 1-2 hours and waking up in the middle of the night to change it. Nixit has over double the capacity and bearing down allows me to dump the disc without removing it. Removing it in the shower and putting it back in with one leg up has worked great on my heavy days. I prefer this to the flex reusable because it feels easier to manage and I don’t feel like the nixit will pop out of me during insertion/removal because flex is so firm on the rim. I was even able to go Christmas shopping on my heaviest flow day and had no leaks or issues. I’m so thankful I found this disc it has given me back my sanity and it’s so nice to be able to run errands and work on my period now.
Alexis D.
Once it’s in you don’t even feel it, very comfortable.
Kristina L.
The Nixit was too big even though I have heavy flow Saalt and Hello disc were my favorites. Didn’t like diva it leaked.
Stephanie A.
I have been using a period cup for about 5 years. After watching Period Nirvana, I got the courage to try my first disc and I loved it. After about 6 months, I switched from the Hello disc to Nixit and I like it alot better. Even tho i love the Hello disc, the plastic is way softer on the Nixit and I find it easier to put in and more comfortable
Allison W.
Oh man. This has changed the game!
I first started using cups about 10 years ago. First the Diva cup, then the LENA, then the Super Jennie, and finally the Si-Bell large - its capacity and softness came closest to working well. I have endometriosis and have often had awful cramps throughout my life - in addition to a moderately heavy flow. Cups were such a huge improvement over tampons, but even the super soft Si-Bell cup seemed to exacerbate cramps on my painful days. I just get so painful and swollen and tender! Plus, with a moderately low cervix, my cervix would always dip into the cup and reduce the capacity I could get from the cup.
Since I started working from home full time in 2019, I basically stopped using cups altogether. I mostly stuck with cloth pads, which were the best from a crampy perspective, as long as I could stay mostly stationary. But that basically meant I was trapped at home for a full 2-3 crampy painful days. Even though going for walks always helps my cramps, of course I never wanted to walk around with giant cloth pads - and using a cup would increase cramps enough that the walking had a net neutral effect, compared to staying at home with cloth pads.
Enter the Nixit disc. I took the Period Nirvana quiz, and the Nixit disc was my result. It IS quite soft, and I can see why others might have a hard time getting it inserted. But as a rule, I always use lots of lube to help insert soft menstrual cups - lube helps reduce any internal friction that would make it difficult for the cup or disc to open up properly inside. This worked like a charm with the Nixit!
I’ve always been skeptical of people who have said that switching to a cup reduced their cramps, since that was always the opposite of my experience. But holy crap, that was totally my experience with the Nixit! I think because the disc and especially the basin is SO soft and flexible, it’s almost like not wearing anything at all, as far as my cervix is concerned - so it definitely didn’t make my cramps worse. And while I doubt that the disc is DIRECTLY responsible for reducing cramps, I expect that having internal protection simply made it easier for me to move and walk around a lot more, which DID ease my cramps. Instead of 2-3 days of pain, I had one day, and then the rest of the time, I kept forgetting I was even on my period!
Also — the Nixit does not leak for me at all. I can see how other bodies might not have the same experience, given the diameter of the Nixit - maybe it’s a combination of cervix height and and where your pubic bone sits in relation to your hips… but for my anatomy, the Nixit fit perfectly, and once it was in, it did not leak one bit. On my heaviest nights, I slept with a giant overnight cloth pad as backup (I always had to do this with my cups, as they’d be overflowing/leaking by the morning). But with the Nixit, those backup pads were bone-dry in the morning. And it’s not for lack of flow! When I got to the toilet to empty/rinse my Nixit, it was full to the brim! It just didn’t leak.
So, even though I plan to continue to use back-up (probably gonna obtain some period underwear), so far the Nixit has blown me away. It’s just been one cycle so far, but my experience was so overwhelmingly positive, that I couldn’t wait to write my review. This is definitely period nirvana!
April M.
I’ve been using discs for at least 12 years. I started with the Instead Softcup but wanted a more sustainable option that didn’t get “stuck”. (Oh- I have some stories!)
After a ton of research, I settled on Nixit and honestly couldn’t wait for my next cycle to roll around so I could give it a spin.
My first use of it was the only successful use and in that moment I was in love. It was extremely comfortable, easy to insert and I had zero difficulty extracting it.
Oh how I wish this were my ongoing experience!
Sadly, it is not. For the last year, or more, each cycle I again hope for a repeat of the first incredible experience and each cycle I am met with disappointment as time and again it slips out of place, forcing me to change outfits and feminine products.
I did write Nixit for advice and the customer service response was good.
I wish it came in different sizes?? Maybe that would solve my problem? Or maybe the outer lip is a tad too flexible and the lack of suction is the cause.
I wish I knew. I wish I could make it work. It absolutely is made with the softest and most comfortable materials of all the discs I’ve tried.
Hopefully you ladies have better luck than me.
Maddie
Was super excited to try this one. I bought it about a year ago thinking it was going to be perfect after how much I loved my cup but it immediately did not work for me. Despite having a high cervix I could not get it to tuck up at all and it would immediately fall out of place. It was so uncomfortable to have in, the pressure on my bladder was unbearable so I didn’t try again for a year. And again I had the exact same issues. The nixit’s diameter is way too large and I would definitely recommend a smaller disc. Just tried saalt small and I love it. Two stars because I loved the packaging and the quality is good. If they ever make a smaller version I would definitely be interested.

Hard to remove! I’ve tried disposables and they were okay had a couple leaks here and they’re but the one thing I liked about them was how easy they were to remove. I could just use one finger under the rim and that would do it. But I’ve had trouble removing this one the rim is too fat and it’s slippery. Everything else is good though.

This is my first disc experience. I had previously thought about cups but never tried it. While doing my research I came across the Period Nirvana page and after watching a majority of Kim's videos and taking the quiz multiple times... I decided to give the Nixit a try. I have a high cervix and have had 4 children. I was pleasantly surprised with this experience! It felt easy after watching all of Kim's videos to prepare me on the insertion process and etc. I took it in and out more that necessary in order to gain confidence in the disc and my ability to get it into the correct position. It felt so much cleaner not having a string acting as a bodily fluid wick. I don't think I will go back to tampons.
E. A.
Easy learning curve. Very easy to insert and dump when full.
Saba
The Nixon cup was the result of the quiz, and I bought it. It took a few tries to get it situated properly (which is not a problem I had with the Lumma L) and it autodumps whenever I sneeze (also did not have this issue with Lumma L, which is similarly sized). I think it’s because of how soft it is. Not my favorite.
An
This just doesn’t seem to fit me. I can’t get it to stay behind my pubic bone and it’s not very comfortable. I am comfortable with my body and I’m certain it’s not a lubrication issue (as the manufacturer would suggest). Too bad because I really wanted to like this!
Tiffany R.
I absolutely love the Nixit disc. I have found it helps prevent my cramps. Going to order another one.
Lee W.
A friend introduced discs to me and she said she used the Nixit and so I decided to try it. After using it for a few periods I really like it. I never leak, even on heavy days. My only beef is that there is no pull tab. It would be a perfect disc for me if there was a pull.
Blanca P.
It’s so soft and I really wanted to like it but I realized it was the wrong size but after trying this disc I knew I couldn’t go back to a cup or any other period product so I ended up getting another disc that fit perfect
Mariane
Ok so I’m a long time cup used, first time disc user. The Nixit is probably the only disc approved for sale in Canada so I had only this option.
Good things:
- you really don’t feel it, there is no pressure on the bladder or anything
- it does hold a lot, it’s possible to go the entire day without emptying it even on your big days if you have a regular flow
- easy to get in, and the auto dump is really something magical!!
Not so good:
- i have a veery high cervix, and the disc did not just stay tucked behind my pubic bone, it ended up bunching up really high in my vagina. I could only retrieve it by hooking. Up with my index and flipping my hand outwards so I can make it slip down by maintaining pressure on the rim against my vaginal wall. Of course by then there was absolutely nothing left in the disc to « retrieve and pour out » because everything had flushed onto my hand the second I grabbed it more firmly.
Hands wash, that’s not a big deal, but it turned my shower into a murder scene and I had a hard time not doing the same over a toilet. Stained a pair of jeans and definitely had some cleaning up to do after each offload.
I did like it quite a bit but I don’t think my anatomy makes it a good regular solution for me.

When I bought this disc 2 years ago, I was excited, I was happy that I could make the switch from a cup to a disc and finally have a happier and comfier period. I tried putting it in and it wouldn’t go in for me, I tried to lube it up and it still wouldn’t go in. I guess it was just too soft for me? I wish I could have used it because I feel like I wasted $62 dollars ( disc, wipes and tote bag bundle from their website )

Very heavy bleeder here!... I was done with huge pads, even incontinence underwear! I heard about the menstrual cups and wanted to try it,but was reticent because I hated tampons so... A Cup?!? But my despair of trying something never tried before won over! And when I heard of menstrual discs, I was convinced to give it a go! I was soooo anxious and excited in the same time. The order came in a timely manner, unfortunately cought my 3rd day of my period (still bloddy, but not so heavy). I was afraid to have it inserted and tried it in and out for a few times, while watching the Period.Nirvana videos on YouTube. In the end, I tried Nixit and checked on it every 20 minutes, not being sure of the insertion. And I was very prowd of myself: no leaks! I have to say though, I could feel it inside and sometimes i was scared of sliding out. BUT IT STAYED PUT AND NO LEAKS! The videos helped a lot! Immediately after such a great success, I started recommending Nixit to my friends! Next period, I will try the Saalt Regular Disc! Thank you so much! ...Honestly!...
Rachel Q.
It took a couple cycles to get used to it but I understand the the self elimination process and it is great
Elise C.
Great! The quiz to find out what would work best was so helpful!

This product is actually life-changing! There’s no other way to put it. I had been using a diva cup for 2 years, and while it was a better experience than pads, my heavy flow was too much for the cups. I leaked on 4/5 days of my period even while emptying the cups 3 times at work. Nixit has been wonderful. The auto dumping is a lifesaver and it means I can avoid messes in public bathrooms and save them for home. It’s really comfortable too
Laura H.
I have worn a diva cup for 10+ years and after having twins, I needed more capacity and got Nixit. It does not work for me. I experience gushy leaks while going about my day. I have to check, adjust, and reposition it with every bathroom break. It was making me sore readjusting it so much. I also greatly dislike the auto dump, if I wanted to be wiping blood every bathroom break, I would wear pads. The removal was also very messy compared to the diva cup. With the Nixit, because it auto dumpes before removal, the cup was usually mostly empty but covered in blood on the outside of it as well as inside. When it was in place and working, it was comfortable.

I know it’s dramatic but this product changed my period life. I have a very heavy flow (usually 110-120ml) and it’s dreadful every month. No reusable period product has ever allowed me 12 hours of not fussing with it. I previously used the Diva Cup and I love the idea of no waste. I then came across the disc world and tried the reusable flex disc and while it does work, I was leaking from overflow every hour or 2 on my heaviest days. I did the quiz and it recommended the Nixit Disc. So I started researching and gave a chance. I did not leak once on my period. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing that felt to truly forget I was on my period ON MY HEAVIEST DAY. It has been wonderful and I’m very grateful for this product. I do have a VERY high cervix so size is not an issue but I can definitely see how it might be for others.

I have had the nixit for nearly a year now and still cannot get it to work for me. The material is delightfully soft. I love the ridges. Color is cute. Everything was fine except for the diameter of the disc. It is 70mm in diameter. And it just cannot fit up there for me. It either doesn't sit behind my pubic bone at all, or it pops out of place when I'm just walking about or just sitting down for a while. I always experience auto dump leaks with it. If only they made a nixit mini/small with 65mm in diameter will I be more likely to have it work for me. For reference, I am 24 years old, never been pregnant, and weight around 135-140, average height of 5'3.
Thea S.
Great product. Softer material than I am used to (I used to use SoftDisc), but ended up liking it. Definitely would recommend.
Ashley
The Nixit was the first disc I tried after not liking cups. I regret buying it before doing more research, as it is one of the larger discs available and was too big for me. It couldn't tuck properly behind my pubic bone, making me question if I had a prominent enough pubic bone to even use a disc. It also sat extremely low and would work itself free during exercise or even just walking around the house.
However, it fit just well enough for me to see the promise of a well-fitting disc so I ordered one with a 65mm diameter that fits perfectly and stays in place. The Nixit is a nice disc if you need a larger diameter disc. Looking at the chart of disc diameters, I certainly wish I had started with something more average in size. I would have saved a lot of money that way!
Anelese A.
I’ve used a diva cup for years but I’ve had problems with it always. It is too hard to remove sometimes and hurts when putting it in and sometimes when I’d take it out too. I LOVE the nixit! It’s soft and doesn’t hurt ever and I never bleed through it. Perfect!
Kelli G.
This is a nice disc but fit me too soft. It was very hard to get it out.
Francise C.
After years of being so uncomfortable in pads I took the leap. This is my first cycle using my nixit and I love it! I put it on in the shower which made it sooooo much easier. Taking it out was a little hard for me but practice will make perfect. So happy I never have to go back to pads. This feels like I have nothing at all I forgot for a while that it was in. I took it out right before bed and washed it and put it back in. Mess free sleep
Jia J.
I always watch Period Nirvana’s YouTube page and decided to first try out the Cora disc, I realized it was too stiff for me and made it uncomfortable during insertion. Now I just tried my Nixit and it is PERFECT!!! Super easy to insert and remove! No pain at all! Tip: I always use a little bit of water based lubricant
Amorette V.
I have used the disposable Softdisks before but wanted something more sustainable. I took the quiz and got the Nixit, but upon using I’m not sure if the cup wasn’t firm enough or my cervix was lower than I thought but the Nixit was hard to get in and stuck out into my vag canal. That being said, I only leaked once but when I took it out the area behind my pelvic bone was a little raw. I got the Lumma small cup and it is a much better fit so far, but I got it towards the tail end of my period so I’m not sure how well it will hold on my heavy days! Hope this helps✨
Bneikia R.
Awesome! I will never use pads and tampons again.
S
absolutely phenomenal! i’ve struggled with cups for YEARS, and was able to get the nixit to work perfectly the first time i used it! i didn’t leak once for a whole cycle, and i cannot feel it at all! the best $42 i’ve ever spent.
Sidney A.
I have not used the disc yet, but the packaging was amazing! The instructions were great, easy to read, and gender-neutral. The designs on the storage bag and drawings in the instruction are super cool.
The disc feels super smooth. The bowl part is very thin and flexible. The rim is a nice firmness. I can't wait to try it out on my cycle!
Shannon M.
the nixit is great... once you know how to use it and can get the fit right reliably. this is my third period I'm using it for and still struggle to get the fit right on the first two days for some reason (days where the fit absolutely needs to be right). I'm still learning, but imo its WAY better than a cup. I can wear it longer once i get it right, and is a lot easier for me to insert/remove. it also doesnt press on my bladder too much. I gave it 4 stars because ive struggled to find tips for insertion from the nixit website that actually work for me.
Sarah K.
Nixit claims that it works for people with a low cervix, and that if it doesn't work it's because you're doing it wrong. First of all, the disc is huge. When it's folded for insertion it's 88mm long. For people with a low cervix (~44mm) how are you supposed to get it under there? The only demos on their website are for super high cervixes. If you have a pretty high cervix, I think it would work.
Nixit's customer service is absolutely awful. They tell you to email them so you can work through any issues. First off, they reply to your email with "The nixit team" so when you're telling them about your issues, you don't even know who you're talking to which is super impersonal for such a personal issue.
Secondly, they say that it's "impossible" for the disc to go on top of your cervix and that it works with all vaginas. It's so frustrating to be told that your experience with their product is invalid.Ugh! I'm embarrassed that this product is Canadian.
On a different note, period.shop is an amazing resource and I wish that I found this website earlier! Please consider shipping to Canada!
Britney L.
Well so far I like it bc I've been wanting it for a while, and I got it at the end of my cycle so I can't really give a full review on it rn. It's not bad I just haven't used it enough to say if id recommend it or not. Sometimes I feel discomfort but I feel that I will eventually get the hang out using it.
Susan P.
Love how soft the disc is and there were no leaks. Very easy to insert and set into place. I’m just not sure I’ve figured out yet the best way to remove because the Nixit is so soft that it’s hard to get my finger under the rim without it just compressing. Still better than my cups and I like it better than disposable discs.
Abigail T.
I used the Flex disposable discs for two cycles before ordering this. I wanted to make sure a disc was right for me before I invested too much into it. With the Flex, I had perfect insertion every time and never leaked. With the Nixit, it took a little more precision to insert correctly, and on my last day it kept dropping into my vaginal cavity where I could feel it. I assume it’s just a learning curve since it’s so much softer than the disposable ones I had been using, but even when it slipped down it still didn’t leak. Also, when I used the disposable during intercourse, he could feel it and said it hurt a little whereas with the Nixit he couldn’t even feel it. And again, no leaks during that either!!
Kate R.
I wrote another review for this wonderful disc before trying the “mess-free period sex” feature, but have to report back after trying it for myself.
First of all, I didn’t tell my husband that I was using this disc during our play time, and he said not one thing about feeling anything different, and trust me, he would have, had he felt even the slightest difference. He didn’t like when I used Nuvaring because he could feel it. So, husband satisfaction: 10/10.
As for me, I had no difference in my play time experience, either! 10/10
This disc has changed everything!
Kate R.
Amazing Period.Shop experience! I bought another disc at a drugstore out of frustration when my cups were failing me. (I may even have been a little huffy.) That disc was a step in the right direction, but I knew it was too big after a couple of days of wearing it and it popping out of place and leaking on me. So I watched all of Kim’s PN videos and TikToks, read her articles on discs, and then I read up on the reviews here on Period.Shop, and I ended up purchasing this beautiful little coral colored disc.
I can’t say enough good things about it.
Let’s start with the packaging. It’s gorgeous! I love the box and the inserts and the pretty little coral bag with whimsical full-figured bodies on it. And, for me, the disc itself is absolutely what this website and Kim’s mission is all about—total Period Nirvana! It actually catches all my blood, doesn’t leak, and I cannot feel it at all when it’s in correctly. I was always aware of (thus, paranoid about) my cups because they would slip down or poke or whatever. No more!
If you’re on the fence about trying a disc: Don’t walk. Run! This baby is worth every penny.
Candace H.
I bought the Nixit disc and I love it. It stays in place all day and when you use the bathroom it does dump when it’s full. But it seems to go right back in place. I’ve had a tiny bit of leaking but not even enough to fill a panty liner. It stays in all night with no leaks, I’m so happy that it’s working for me. Used it for about 2 periods so far. Would highly recommend. I’ve given birth once and the size is great and you can’t even feel it.
Saporia A.
I wanted to love this but it just didn’t work for me. The packaging, shipping, and material was top notch but the nixit disc is HUGE and I could not fit inside me no matter how long I tried. I wish I had just went with my initial plans to get one of the smaller discs instead of using the suggested disc.
Megan G.
I had to relearn how to put it in right since it’s been so long. It was amazing, no leaks and I kept forgetting I was even on my period except for cramps.
Brandi D.
Where has this been all my life?! I have been a cup user for many years, but I got an IUD this summer and was concerned about explusion, so I decided to try a disc. I started with disposables to see if I would like them with the intention to purchase a reusable disc for my next cycle. I was not disappointed at all. Not only is the disc more comfortable for me, I have also experienced NO leaks (which I often still did with cups), I have to empty it less, it AUTOdumps, and I can still have sex on my period. What more could you want in a period product?
Laura P.
I tried the Nixit cup/disc after trying the Luma disc. The Nixit is more comfortable while in than the Luma disc for me. Luma disc caused some worsening of my cramps. I can't feel the Nixit at all once in place. Nixit is more difficult to remove and the double rings scrape my vagina when I'm removing it. I've only used it one cycle so I will have to adjust my removal technique. Currently I have to hook my thumb in the top of the disc to pull it out which rubs the rings against me in an uncomfortable way.
Jennifer M.
Amazing. I have been a cup user for about 6/7 years. But after having my second child they didn’t work like they used to. After trying different styles and sizes i stumbled upon the magical disc ! I started with the soft disc disposable one (on the left) and knew i needed a reusable one ASAP. The Nixit is so soft and holds sooo much. Love it! Which i found it sooner.
Julia J.
I bought 3 reusable period disks to try out. I’m a long time Instead fan, and use a period cup from time to time.
This was my favorite of the three. Buttery soft, very thin and flexible. Instead disks feel like they are crinkly. This feels marvelous.
I’ll happily continue using this product.
Alyssa C.
I found that the nixit cup was much softer than my soft disk which I thought would be more comfortable and was excited about. Once it’s in it’s great but it does not go in easily. My cervix is low so it doesn’t have a lot of space in there and since it’s so soft I really have to finagle to get it to sit in the right spot. It’s almost like it wants to pop out. So far I would say the soft disk was easier in that aspect.
Karly H.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZED! I have used a period cup before and got it off of Amazon...I wish I would have known about period nirvana before that. This is my first disk and I have to say that the Nixit is perfect. Game changer! I have used disposable cups before and liked them but did not find them any more eco-friendly than traditional period supplies. I am SO SO SO happy I found my period nirvana with Nixit. I pushed this disk to the max by doing a HIIT workout with tons of jumping and lifting without any events of auto-dumping. That is not to say that I will not in the future but I am very happy with the disk so far.
Chelsea A.
I *love* this thing! First, it shipped all the way across the continental U.S. amazingly quickly! When it came I unboxed it immediately and it felt so soft and well-made. It inserts very easily and settles perfectly into place with minimal effort. I remove it with my thumb because I find the angle is a little better for me. It fits extremely well for me personally. I have a very high cervix and I was prepared for auto-dumping, but it hasn’t happened 5 days into my period. I tried a cup last cycle and while I liked it, removing it gave me so much anxiety because I had a rough time breaking the seal with my high cervix. This totally solves that issue and I’m able to take it out, rinse it, and pop it back in in a tiny fraction of the time! This was easier and more comfortable than I even imagined. I’d call it a huge success! Thank you so much for your quiz and your instructional videos, they were SO helpful. I don’t think I would even have tried a cup in the first place if I hadn’t found your resources online!
Rosalba G.
After buying a menstral cup I bought at target, I instinctively knew it wasn’t a great fit and it didn’t support my extra heavy flow. After doing hours of research on YouTube, Period Nirvana introduced me to Nixit, I was confident it was going to be great and I was right! The “auto dumping” feature is a game changer. This disc holds surprisingly more than I thought it would but I knew for the first few days of my period no cup or disc could hold my flow but the auto dumping feature made it so much easier to empty the device without having to completely remove it from my body, especially in public bathrooms. Even though I do have to manually insert a finger to release the contents, at least I don’t have to remove the whole thing. Thank you so much Period Nirvana for all your help Im very satisfied.

Nixit is the second disc I tried. I was looking for something softer after the firmness of Cora caused bladder pressure. It is also what the quiz recommended for me, and it is spot on! It is soooo comfortable to wear and easy to insert/remove. The pouch it comes with is also adorable.

I have been a cup user for 2 years now. I love my Lena cup. I decided to get the disk simply because I wanted to try it. If you are a cup user, inserting and learning the disk is simple. I feel like the disk is less likely to leak than the cup however, the removing the disk is a bit messier and you will definitely get blood on your fingers (reason for 4 stars).

I went from using Softdiscs periodically (because they weren’t high enough capacity for me) to the Nixit. Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I did!!
The Nixit is a god tier menstrual product. The material is super soft and very well made. It fits my body like a glove, whereas I would say Softdiscs fit but I could feel pressure from the rim against my cervix. The material is so soft I can’t feel it at all, and my partner was not able to feel it during penetration.
It took me about 3-4 cycles to get the autodumping figured out, and I learned I didn’t have to take the disc completely out to dump. Now, even if I’m not autodumping, I will pull the rim down enough to dump some contents out then replace the disc behind my pubic bone. That way I don’t have to remove it completely away from home!
I would caution against getting this if you’re not 100% sure it will fit. I believe this size will fit most people, but a disposable disc will give you the best indication of disc diameter. I have also been fitted for a diaphragm by a gynecologist, and my diaphragm size is 75mm.
Nixit is the most comfortable menstrual product I’ve ever worn. It has not caused additional cramping once since I’ve used it! I’ve done several low to medium impact workouts while wearing the Nixit and have not had any issues. There is a learning curve of about 3 cycles to figure out any new product, but it’s so worth it with the Nixit.

I tried many times after studying various ways to make sure that I use nixit correctly. In vain, all failed. The cup doesn't stay in place and pops out every time. I feel like the diameter of the disc is too large for me.

I have extremely heavy periods that can last for months on end due to hormone imbalances. The diva Cup was very uncomfortable as I have a retroverted uterus and the nixit disc fit amazingly barely ever had any leak issues at all. The downside even with frequent washing sterilizing and rinsing out the cup the material of the cup ended up smelling absolutely horrendous.

I’ve been using period cups since November of last year but I’ve been having issues with the seal breaking every single time I lie down or get up. The leaking is so bad that my cups (I’ve tried multiple) practically empties itself out every time I get out of bed. So I decided to give discs a try to see if that would be a better fit for me. Unfortunately that’s not the case. I took the Period Nirvana test and it recommended the Nixit disk. I decided to try it while I wasn’t on my period and I couldn’t get it in. The rim is too flimsy and it wouldn’t tuck behind my pubic bone, it would just pop out every single time. I wasn’t sure if I was inserting it wrong, so I decided to try out a disposable disc and I was able to use it just fine. So I decided to try the Nixit again and still no luck. I will say that the material of the Nixit feels like good quality and the packaging is a 10/10. I’m so sad it didn’t work for me. I’m still on the lookout for a reusable menstrual product that’ll work for me.

Thanks to the Period Nirvana channel, I've gone directly from pads and tampons to menstrual discs and liners. The Nixit is the very first menstrual disc I've tried, and it is a total game changer.
Pros:
(1) It is very comfortable. I could not feel it once it was properly inserted.
(2) I did not experience any cramping or bloating.
(3) No more sensation of gushing or dealing with the discomfort of a supersaturated tampon.
(4) Related to my first point; most of the time, I forgot I was on my period. (Huge selling point for me)
(5) I got longevity out of my wear time by auto-dumping the disc (see the Period Nirvana YouTube Channel for more on this), but word to the wise, make sure to push the disc back into place when you are done! I forgot to do this the first and within 5 mins I could feel like something was off. Lucky for me, I work from home, so I could quickly head to the restroom and correct my mistake.
Cons:
(1) I did experience the disc popping out of position during a long drive to pick up a friend from the airport. The disc leaked all of its contents, but I had a super absorbent pad on as a backup. The problem could have been my posture while sitting in the car; I like my seat to lean back a little, so it does change the angle of my pelvis and how I bear down on it...perhaps my posture allowed the disc to pop out of place. I was a little paranoid after that, even though I did not experience any leaks going forward.
(2) On the days when my cervix was low, I had no issues with getting the disc in and out, but near the end of my cycle when my cervix was high again, boy oh boy did I have to go up there and dig this thing out! For this reason, I've got my eye on the Lumma disc with the stem, which I'm hoping will lead to easier retrieval no matter my cervix height.
(3) Related to my second point, auto-dumping is a great function of discs in general, but I could not dump enough to buy me the time I wanted because of how heavy my flow is. On my heaviest days, I have to empty this disc every 3-4 hours. Auto-dumping buys me 30 mins to an hour at a time, so it's best to totally empty the disc, something I can't imagine doing away from home. This is another reason I'm motivated to give the Lumma disc a spin. I'm hoping the stem will make for a more efficient emptying experience out of the home.
Either way, this is a great disc and the gains outweigh any inconveniences I experienced as a first-time disc user. I've already recommended the Nixit to friends and family, especially the ones will light to normal flow, as I feel they will benefit the most from this disc.

It was very similar to the NuvaRing and slightly bigger. The rubber-like material is very high quality and it feels luxurious! I love it! I tried it on a few times before my period came. At first I couldn't get it out because I was using my middle right to reach it, but could not hook it and take it out. Later on, I tried using my index finger instead to reach it and it was much much much easier to hook it and take it out! Glad I found out how to use it! I plan to continue using it and I would recommend for those who don't like using the cup/having suction.

Amazing!!!! I got my nixit the day I got my period and immediately boiled it so I could use it! I was very nervous because I’ve had a bad experience using a cup in the past and thought these products would never work for me BUT I was wrong! The nixit was easy to insert and remove, I had absolutely no leaks! Wore it all day and night for 3 days straight (of course emptying 2x a day) and I am totally sold!!! I have always disliked using tampons and pads because I’m always afraid of leaks, hate the feeling of using the bathroom with a tampon in... but I could barely feel the nixit at all!! I’m so impressed and so so thankful I finally found a product I can use! I’m actually excited to get my period again so I can use it again!

Any time I had it in me...if I bent down, squatted down, sneezed, or even laughed, it popped out and I leaked. I'm felt it was comfortable when I first got it in, but didn't enjoy the need for extra protection when I had this in.
Everyone is different and this just didn't work out for me. I love the idea though! I'll stick with my cup!

It seems very good quality so I didn't want to knock too many stars, but in trying to use this I discovered that I have a tilted cervix, which makes the disc almost impossible to insert because the rim is so wide that it can't really slip behind it. I tried the Lumma disc instead and it worked great because the rim is just one ring and slips behind there pretty easily. I'm half inclined to try cutting the top ring off of the Nixit but I feel bad cutting into it since it's so well made XD

It's just too big for me. I had previously bought the nixit and returned it when they had the three cycle trial going on. Back then, I was not familiar with my vagina at all, and I did not even try to insert the disc but once. I chalked it up to my unfamiliarity with my body and bought it on PN. I really like my salt soft, but I wanted something for period sex. Shipping was FAST. I tried the disc, and I got it in, but it was painful to tuck behind my pubic bone. It stayed though, but slipped out four hours later while I was sitting in the car reading a book. Nixit was recommended on the quiz. I have purchased a lumma to try next. I'm 5' tall, and I use a salt soft small and teen size cup.

I tried to like the nixit cup (the box calls it a cup but it’s a disc) but it was a pretty big mess for me. My first day was easy and comfortable but all the days after were really frustrating. Putting it in was a little uncomfortable to get it to tuck behind my public bone the first time and it moved deeper in me over time so when I tried to remove it I had to dig for it. One pro is that it never leaked for me. However the angle to get it out was all wrong every time I tried and often was either difficult to hook my finger onto to be able to pull it out or I would twist it wrong during the pull out and hurt my inner walls. The auto dump feature is really cool when you want it to happen when you are just peeing really quick but every time I went to remove the cup it would auto dump on my hand, causing half my hand to be covered (and kind of stained) in my period blood as well as the toilet seat and the dump made it harder to grasp the cup for removable. I know that with practice it probably gets better but after using it for a week with my period it was just as frustrating as in the beginning for me.
I was really excited to try the nixit because you can have intercourse while wearing it and the no suction part made it appear to be a better fit for me. But it’s way too messy of a removal process for me to want to use it all the time. I will stick to my normal cup that I am already comfortable using.

I really wanted to love this disc. I had a similar experience to many of the other reviews where the disc was just too big, and it kept popping out from my pubic bone. I also experienced autodumping on its own. Sometimes I felt it trying to pop out when I was standing up. The packaging and the quality of this is disc is amazing. The double rim feature making removal way easier than the Lumma. I found it a little difficult to insert due to the softness. This really is a great disc if its the right size for you. I strongly believe this isn't a one size fits all product, and I really wish Nixit would release a smaller size too. I was able to make it once, but as the day went on, it just started to continue wanting to pop out. When it did work, the experience was amazing. I recommend this for people who know this size will fit, otherwise it feels like a waste of money since this is pricier compared to other discs.

Nixit has been great for my heavy flow the first few days and stays in place unless I’m actively trying to auto dump. Favorite so far
Sol N.
Had the same experience as another reviewer here. I have a high cervix and had previously used the disposable discs (same diameter as nixit) but for some reason I never got this one to properly stay in place. I also, very unwisely might I add, decided to wear it while on a 10+ hour flight and it ended up auto-dumping mid-flight. Thankfully I had my backup cup on hand!
Dominique H.
I can’t get it to fit all the way in me. It doesn’t hold behind my pubic bone, it’s keeps slipping out. I followed instructions to a T.

I took the quiz because my previous cup was leaking. I've never tried a disk before, so there has been a slight learning curve. It is very comfortable! I can't even feel it when it's in place! Still working on the removal process but I like it.
Ashley P.
I tried a small cup about a year ago. I had seen an add and it had good reviews but I wasn’t able to insert it. The disk that was recommended is amazing! It hasn’t leaked even though I have very heavy periods and I’m pretty active. I’m cramping less and I’m so much more comfortable and clean! I’ll never go back to tampons.

I wanted to love the nixit because of the soft silicone, but it was just too big and/or too soft. I have a high cervix and have no problem with the lumma L or with the flex discs, but the nixit kept untucking from my pubic bone and auto dumping at random times.
Claire C.
I so wanted to love the Nixit. It’s petal soft, high quality, and that packaging.... but it was just too big for me despite claiming to be one size fits all. It stays in place at first, but tips so that I can feel it at my opening. Bummer, but if it’s the correct size for you, it’s a very nice disc!
Abigail N.
Absolutely stoked about this! I feel great and more comfortable on my period than ever!!! I can’t stop telling my friends about it!! Thank you so much!
Rebecca F.
Nixit is so comfortable! It's easy to insert and I love the softer rim. I had my first leak-free day ever while using a cup/disc while wearing it and it felt amazing!

I read about auto-dumping on Period Nirvana and I wanted to give it a whirl. WOW, revolutionary! I do find that after dumping I need to go back in and make sure that the disc rim goes back behind the pubic bone, which I don't mind doing. I have a squatty potty and using that seems to get me in the right position for the auto-dump to happen. I love this feature, thank you!

Love everything about the shop comparison chart and quiz

I wanted to like the Nixit disc, but is uncomfortable to me. It seems well made and I am sure it works for some people! It is quite large and awkward to insert.

Period Nirvana indeed! I graduated to the Nixit cup (disc) after trying multiple cups over many cycles and never finding one that didn’t leak. From the very first time I used the Nixit I have had zero leaks!! Eureka! It’s so comfortable I don’t even know it’s there, and I am also apparently one of the lucky “auto dumpers,” so while it is messy-ish, I didn’t find it to be too bad, even with a pretty heavy flow. Sooooooo happy I gave the disc a try. Total life changer.

I don’t like the suction from cups so I switched to a Lumma disc in the large size. It works great but wanted to compare it to Nixit.
At first I didn’t like Nixit because it doesn’t slide in as easily as Lumma does and I thought it was too big, but I tried pinching one end and inserting/pinching little by little (like in the demo videos from the highlights on Nixit’s Instagram), and using water based lube just on the end that will be inserted first. It worked!
Make sure to insert DOWN and BACK. I think because of the double rim I’m able to reach and remove Nixit a little easier than Lumma. I also think it’s a little less messy to remove than Lumma since Nixit starts to pop open as I remove it. Lumma stays scrunched/collapsed until I remove it completely which is why I think it spills more.
I know I can just bear down so it can self empty but I don’t want to since I like to measure how much I bleed
The self emptying feature will come in handy whenever Im not at home so I don’t have to worry about removing it. I can just let it self empty, tuck it up again, and remove it when I get home.
I love how the bowl part of the disc automatically collapses when pinching the rim and pops open when I let go/as I remove it!
My new favorite period product!

I was having trouble with my first cup and was recommended a Nixit by Period Nirvana on IG. The Nixit came in a gorgeous box like a gift and shipped fast. I'm having success so far with it and the mess was more than my cup but that is better being a mess taking out than a mess in my panties...................... it is expensive but it's super well made and I hope it will last a few years. The only negative is that it's a bit wobbly to push up but I can still get it up there.
