Ladies, if you are a long time cup user and have not had children, reconsider going to the small version of this cup. I recently noticed more leaks than usual from my DivaCup and figured I'd try a new brand and size up to a regular soft cup. The regular is just too big for me, making it quite uncomfortable and leading to cramping. I also wouldn't call this a soft cup, it's at least as stiff as my DivaCup.
Robert M.
Can not get this to work. I am sure it is mostly user error, but I watched all the videos, read all the tips, and still leaked all over the place. Really hoping a disc might work better for me!
Nancy G.
So happy with the switch! If you’re hesitant about trying - just go for it! I wish I had switched years ago <3

I want to be very clear, my “meh” rating has nothing to do with the product quality of the website and shop - those things are top notch, 5 stars! I would consider myself an experienced cup user and for some reason have not been able to use them successfully in the last couple years. I got so frustrated I stopped using them and went back to tampons, this was my first attempt at a new cup to solve my frustrations and unfortunately it did not. It takes A LOT of time and effort (5+ minutes) for me to get a cup to pop open. And yes, I know all the tricks and have tried them all. :( at this point I may just use my period panties and reusable pads and tampons when needed.

The only problem I had with it is was that it was the wrong size for me, but that’s my fault. I didn’t know that I have a higher cervix. Planning on getting a higher cervix one soon.
Kennedy M.
This was recommended by the period quiz and it was honeslty perfect. After a brief learning curve of how high the cup needed to sit, this was my best managed period ever. Comfortable, no leaks and all day protection.

A lot more comfy than tampons! Which irritate and make my cramps awful

I had been curious and wanting to try a period cup since I started following period Nirvana, but it took me a long time to build the courage to actually try it out, and after taking the test several times without and then with a high cervix measurement, I settled on the Saalt soft small. My usual period experience was annoying because I hated pads feeling like little diapers, and tampons never felt comfortable. I could count the times I had used tampons on one hand. I hated the feeling of them, they never seemed comfortable, and they always seemed to have some leakage anyway. After struggling a wee bit in the shower trying to insert the cup for the first time with a down fold, I managed to get it comfortable (I had to completely squat, and I'm glad no one could see me because I looked ridiculous). Removal was always a breeze, which was definitely one of the things I was worried about most, but I picked it up instantly, and the insertion eventually got easier too. The boiling part does feel a bit weird to me because, like, why is my period product in a pot on the stove in the kitchen? I'm not sure if I'll get used to that aspect, but I liked the product enough that it won't stop me from using it again. All in all, "period nirvana" is not an exaggeration lol

I was a previous tampon user and now I don’t know why I waited so long to try the cup. I put it in at 6am, came home at 6pm and took the cup out- only 1/3 of it was full! I would periodically check throughout day for any leakage but there was never any. Normally, I would have to change my tampon 3x during my 12 hour shift and/or possibly risk leaking. I highly recommend the cup. It was very easy to put in, harder to remove though. I did use the suggestion of removing it in the shower and that was helpful! Still, overall better than using tampons.

This is a great cup! I previously had a Diva cup but I prefer that this comes in a dark gray (so discoloration won't be as obvious) and I find the "tail" of this more comfortable than Diva (which I had to trim). This creates a great leak free seal. It was almost hard to remove the first few times until I figured out how to grab it and break the seal, so just keep at it if you find it difficult at first. I have no complains and would definitely recommend this cup!

I really enjoyed the cup, however discovered I have a high cervix so I'll be trying a disk next. This was a great beginner for me. My first day using it was a bit of a struggle, as expected. I couldn't quite figure out how far to insert it and wasn't inserting it far enough. But it would kinda fix it's self. I went got my nails done, lunch with a friend, and did some shopping. There were no leaks, and I felt really comfortable! When it came time to take it out ... I couldn't find it... It had gone further up. I told myself that's fine, I'll just have adjust. But every time I tried to get it, it kept going up. I legit panicked for a good 30 seconds. Then I thought about everything I researched and remembered hearing to "bear down," so I tried. And it worked! To say I was relieved was an understatement! Every time I need to dump it, I had to bear down and I was able to bring the cup back down. Overall, it was a good experience, but the cup isn't for me.

Love this cup. Considerably less bladder pressure, less discomfort from suction, and easier to insert. I only gave 4 stars and not 5 because the capacity isn’t quite enough to keep up with my heavy flow. I tried the Merula OS but found it too difficult to insert. I have to empty the Saalt every 2-3 hours during my heaviest days, but it’s a price I’m willing to pay for improved comfort.

OMG. I am a first time user & I was so skeptical on trying this but when I finally got it to unfold inside of me, I was AMAZED. The picture is pretty graphic so I apologize but I am at my heaviest day & not ONE leak. It def is a learning curve but so worth it! I recently ordered the hello disc because I realized that I have a high cervix & it was really hard for me to undo the suction & pull the string to get it out so I’m giving the disc a try. So far, I’m loving it! It’s just a little difficult to pull out bc of my high cervix but the product itself is amazing!
Shania B.
For first time users, it takes a couple of times to get it right. But once you do it’s so comfortable, almost undetectable. I sleep through the whole night peacefully. It was even better when I woke up and found dry, clean bed sheets. 10/10

I’ve used cups for 15 years and thought I was experienced. I was wrong. Or maybe shaped wrong. This one sits too high in my vaginal cavity and I have to damn near shove my hand up there and squeeze down there to remove the cup.
It’s soft and I didn’t feel it while using, but I can’t do bathroom gymnastics twice a day to remove it. I’ll try another product.
Cassie H.
I had been successfully using my Saalt Original size Small for a couple of years but it started leaking overnight. I took the quiz and realized it was because the diameter was too small and I had outgrown the cup. I was recommend a Regular in the Soft version and it's fits perfectly! I have a bit of a lower cervix but I actually like it when my cervix can dip into the cup and it fills the entire vaginal cavity. That way I know it's not going anywhere! I get really bad cramps at the beginning of my period and the soft is super comfortable and wasn't too hard to get in. Now I have an overnight cup and I can use the Small for light flow days!
Erin S.
I didn’t realize I had a high cervix until I tried this product. I have a prolapse so that makes everything a little more difficult. It was very difficult to remove. I would pull on the little end piece but couldn’t really get ahold of it because it was way too high. When I did, it was still difficult to get ahold of. The rest was great. If it had a little handle or something I could get my finger around it probably would have been fine.
Fox N.
although daunting at first, i really liked it! it came just before my period so i was happy to be able to test it out.
love the period nirvana quiz because it really accommodated my needs in a cup! never tried a cup before but never going back to tampons
Stephanie P.
At first I was very excited I took the quiz and it gave me a recommendation which I bought, unfortunately the size of the person does play a roll as plus size women do have a harder time reaching in addition to it not having a great handle to pull from and it being incredibly had to break the suction, it was definitely not for me, at least not the cup, I had sent an email explaining my situation but unfortunately I’ve had no response.
Madison B.
After not getting my period in 8 years (the pill) I decided to get off the bc once I felt like it was right for me. I luckily found period nirvana on insta and took the quiz and this product was recommended. I bought it and am on day 1 and wow, I can’t even feel the cup in! I was nervous about putting it in but tbh it wasn’t even a big deal. I’m SO happy I bought this product and there was not as big a learning curve as I thought there would be. I will never go back to tampons!
Hannah G.
So I have trouble with cups hindering my urine flow and this cup was supposed to be better for that because it's softer, but no. That still happened. It was pretty comfortable but just doesn't work with my anatomy. Because of this I could feel a UTI brewing! If you also have this issue I suggest trying the hello disc. I have found pure period bliss with that product.

I am a new cup user, high cervix, sensitive bladder. I tried Lily Cup One for my last 2 cycles. However it was too soft and collapsable plus I was nervous, I was frustrated. Then I bought Saalt soft based on the quiz and it was perfect! First, I love the color of Saalt cups, the “transaparen-y” color looks more fancy than the solid ones. Second, the firmness is good. It opens easily with the 7-fold. My bladder didn’t feel any pressure. No issue on No. 1 or 2. There was some wiping leaks (residue) on my heavy days. But as long as I wear a pantyliner, it’s totally acceptable. I went for a 1.2K run and did some squats holding dumbbells, the cup didn’t fall nor leaked. The only “downside” of the cup is that the grip lines are too slippery, sometimes I had to hold the grip with one hand to make sure the cup doesn’t move and break the seal with another hand so right now I am not dare to change the cup in public toilets. But I am sure I will do better after practice. In conclusion, if you are a new cup user, Saalt cup is a good one to start with. :)

I've wanted to try a menstrual cup for a long time, but was overwhelmed by the number of options out there. Kim's quiz was perfect! It was recommended that I try the Saalt Soft Small. I went in expecting to have a learning curve, so I made sure I read all the materials and watched Kim's videos before using it. I will say that the feeling of the cup suctioned to your cervix takes some getting used to, but once you figure out how to break the seal, it's not hard to remove. Definitely practice in the shower! Despite that, it was never as messy as I expected. I've felt dirtier with pads and tampons. I also never had any issues with insertion or leaking with the cup. Just overflow, which was a direct result of my not knowing the holding capacity of the cup and wearing it for nine hours straight on a heavier day. I just added a second Saalt cup in a regular size to my collection and am planning to wear it on heavier days. I'm never going back to pads and tampons! If you're on the fence about taking the plunge, just do it!
Kaci C.
I was nervous at first but I was incredibly surprised once I got it all figured out. I thought I’d feel it but I didn’t! The peace of mind that I got from not having to worry about TSS or bleeding-through-a-tampon-timeframe was 100% worth it. I’m literally never going back to tampons.
Vanessa D.
25, never given birth. I had the typical learning curve difficulties which are universal to menstrual cups. I didn't succeed in getting the monster in til like day 5 of my cycle. Went to bed with the sucker. Woke up constantly to pee. Woke up the last time around 5:30 with some seriously cramps. I never have cramps that late in my cycle. Took the cup out, cramps instantly gone. Have not tried product again, probably need to buy either a shorter cup or a cup that doesn't exert as much pressure outwards, which I'm disappointed about because it will be harder to get it to pop open.
ALEXIS M.
This was my first time using a cup. I'm not 100% convinced this is the best cup for me, despite the quiz. I found the size and softness less intimidating, at least. And I loved how much freer and cleaner I felt, compared to relying only on pads and tampons.
The biggest problem: those first two days, the cup kept ending up really high in the vaginal canal. I know I wasn't supposed to pull on the tail to get it out... but I did a little anyway. Not even tips online seemed sufficient to get the base of the cup in reach of two fingers.
I'm still not sure whether it was easier to get the cup out in the last couple days because my technique improved or because my cervix moved down a bit, keeping the cup from traveling as much. (Method I ended up using the last couple days: Reach up with one finger to break the seal as I lightly tug the tail. Secure the tail using one hand, so the cup doesn't ascend, and use two fingers from the other hand to try to get a grip on the base.)
Even so, I have to brace for a little pain upon extraction—no matter how good my grip is or how much I twist, getting through the entrance is uncomfortable. Worse if I'm trying to avoid folding the cup much (too much folding = more spillage). I'm hoping practice will continue to help.
On the heaviest days (which were also my first days with the cup), my vagina was irritated with all the fiddling that extraction/reinsertion required every two or so hours, so I switched to pads for about 16 hours. I'm debating something with more capacity for the heaviest days—ideally also something longer, or perhaps that Flex cup with the tail thing you're actually supposed to tug. But more capacity tends to also mean firmer and wider, and the idea makes my vaginal opening wince.
Would I recommend this cup? Sure—with caveats about softness (seal was sometimes tricky to get) and a possible need for an uncomfortable fishing expedition if you have a high cervix.
Majdi A.
At first it was difficult to use since I was a first time user but I couldn't feel it anymore after getting used to it. BUT, I had more than enough incidents when everything spills out and makes a mess everywhere when I sit up/stand up after sleeping. As for the size, I think the quiz did a ok job at getting me started.
Allyssa V.
Absolutely incredible! The quiz provided me with a cup option that have I been searching for for years. I struggle with bladder pain and tilted cervix so using a cup was always painful. It wasn’t until I found the Saalt cup that I was able to have a pain free period. This cup is softer than most so there was no pressure on my bladder. Also shipping was very fast!
Chelsie K.
Really enjoying the saalt soft cup! Everything feels so much cleaner and less cumbersome using this cup. I love not having to think about my period as much during the day and goodbye to wet tampon strings!!! Seriously I’m embarrassed it took me this long to try a cup. Never going back.
Wendy V.
Beautiful, soft cup. First time I tried it, I think I was out of patience and gave up on it quickly. I couldn't get it to open. I decided to give it a proper try this cycle. I had to squat and twist it a bit to open but once I got it, it was great. No leaks, mild cramping on my first 2 days, no pressure on my bladder, no smell. So far, my best cup!
Rebecca C.
This was my first time using a menstrual cup, so I did a ton of research and took the Period Nirvana quiz in hopes of getting a product that would work well for me. The Saalt soft cup has been great so far! I was really nervous about trying it because my friends who had tried menstrual cups all had bad experiences. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve, but this cup is way easier to insert and remove than I ever expected. I don't even notice I'm wearing it. It's difficult to tell when it has opened and sealed correctly, but I haven't experienced any leaks in the few days I've been trying it. I think this will be a game changer once I use it for a few more cycles and figure out exactly how often it needs to be removed and dumped throughout the day.
Caroline W.
Easier and much more comfortable than I expected! There's definitely a learning curve in emptying it but practice makes perfect. Zero complaints!
sarah g.
I am speechless. I went into using a cup for the first time thinking that it wouldn’t be for me, but I’m in love! I’ve used a disc for a few cycles and really love the feel and ease of it. I do feel cups have way more of a learning curve to them than a disc, but it is worth it. As suggested by Kim, taking a “dry run” on a day when you aren’t on your cycle will help you to assimilate and become more familiar before the blood comes. My vagina loves the saalt soft cup and I hope yours does too! Cheers, loves!
Amber T.
I’ll never go back to using tampons! This cup keeps my vaginal canal from drying out and becoming uncomfortable as it would with tampons and collects much more than any pads I have worn. I also barely feel it! It’s only been five days and I’ve already got the hang of using the cup and I’m in love!
Cerys M.
As someone who started out with the normal firmness Saalt cup and has used it for about 3 years, I was looking for something that would help with a bladder issue I recently started having with my cup, and decided to try Saalt soft since I already know I like the shape. I had no clue a cup could even get more comfortable! I had no issues with leaking, seal, or opening. I was nervous I would have a similar experience as the once I had with OrganiCup since they are similar firmnesses, but boy was I wrong! I play college soccer and this cup held up just fine during practice, I had no issues. Love this cup, would recommend to anyone who is experienced/willing to learn/ or has any sort of bladder problems.
Lucien C.
There's a tiny learning curve to taking a cup out but once you get it its easy :)
Morgan M.
I absolutely love this cup! This is my second cup ( my first being the Lily Cup One, collapsible). This cup was very easy to insert and comfortable to wear! I didn’t experience any discomfort or anything! Taking it out was a bit of a challenge at first but I found a method that works for me and honestly I don’t think I could find a cup that is better for me at the moment. I highly recommend this to any first time cup users!
Meaghan F.
I think the best way to describe using this cup is freedom. Freedom from being paranoid about pads twisting, forgetting to bring any, and having to change them in public. I am so glad I made the switch, even though I’m still learning how to do the best with it. Absolutely love it, and totally recommend
Rachel C.
Unfortunately, Period Nirvana didn't get this one right for me. :(
Lindsey R.
I was using a cup I got 3 years ago from Amazon and the tail was sliding out and I found it uncomfortable that it sit so low and the silicone was so rigid. I took the quiz and got the soft saalt cup and the size and softness have made all the difference. It’s slightly bigger so it sits higher and stays in place and doesn’t give the sensation that my bladder needs emptied like my old one. So happy with the purchase!
Leslie O.
I took the quiz and was recommended the Saalt soft cup. As someone that's prone to cramping and bladder sensitivity this cup has been heaven. I can't even feel it while wearing it. The softness makes it easier for me to remove. I'm truly happy with my purchase.
Katie J.
I was more scared to try the cup vs the disk but I'm so glad I tried it! I love it! It's comfortable and easy and didn't leak once!
maecie c.
I love period shop I will definitely buy from them again!!!
cerai c.
I found the Saalt soft cup to be far more comfortable than the previous cup I was using. I am no longer experiencing pain from insertion and removal of the cup, as this one is more flexible and a better fit for my body. So far I am loving it.
Kimberly F.
Haven't tried one yet!
Heather S.
Love the soft better than the regular.
Kelsie G.
Amazing! I tried one cup previously that I just picked up at Walgreens without doing any research. I had been wanting to make a sustainable switch and did some research and TikTok led me to period nirvana. There were so many informational videos, I took the quiz and am sooo happy with my purchase. It is so much more comfortable than my old one, is easy to clean and will save me so much money! Thank you!!!
Malia K.
I had the hardest time getting this cup to fully open, even after watching Kim’s troubleshooting video. I tried all the tricks, and I only got it to fully open a couple of times. The couple of times I actually did get it to open, I filled the cup within 2 hours. I also felt the cup while it was inside, and it irritated my vaginal opening. I tried trimming the stem but I never could get the cup to fully open again to be able to try it out with the shorter stem to see if that fixed the irritation. I really wanted to like this cup because it was soft. My first cup was a diva cup and it was too long for me and was slightly painful while inserting it so I thought I needed a softer and smaller cup so I went with the saalt soft size small but it didn’t work for me either. Maybe I need to try the saalt regular to help get the cup to open or try a disc to avoid irritation. Had to switch back to tampons for the second half of my period.
Cameron S.
i used to use the normal saalt cup in small before i had my baby, so i knew that i liked the brand. when it came time to get a new cup, i was very excited about the soft version! suuuper comfy i love it
Kathryn D.
I had tried buying a cup before, just choosing one on the self that I thought would work. It did not.... It was uncomfortable and I stopped using it. This time around, I took the quiz to find a product better suited to my needs. As a first time user it took a bit of getting used to, but I’m really liking it so far and I’m happy with my purchase. The cup I got recommended by the quiz has been a great fit.
Kate T.
After taking the cup quiz on period nirvana I was recommended the saalt soft cup. Although I was a bit hesitant because my flow is inconsistent I tried the small size first and I’m so happy-it’s perfect. It’s not too firm but not flimsy and I don’t have a hard time getting it to open. I love it I just wish the soft had more colors. :)
Caitlyn M.
Honestly, everything is working out great. The only reason why it isn’t five stars is because as a first time cup user it is a little nerve wracking to get it out. Additionally, I live in a college dorm so I have to hide in the stall until I’m sure no one is in there with me so I can wash it out. However, it’s been working fine, a little bit of a learning curve but overall not bad.
Emily S.
Saalt soft is much more comfortable than other cups I've worn, including easier removal and insert, and it seems to make a better seal as well, less leaking. I'm so happy, thank you!

Long story short: I love this cup. I have to use it on my not-so-heavy days (because I have a super heavy flow for some reason), but it’s so comfortable that I don’t feel it, it doesn’t press on my bladder at all, and I have had zero leaks.
Just make sure it’s opened all the way, and you’re good to go!
Stephani E.
Im in love with reusables....my Saalt soft cup is my go to and I recently discovered the Nixit and woah....i don’t even know why tampons exist to be honest...never going back!

I love it! Been using cups for years now and the quiz recommended this one. I’m glad I purchased it and I’m happy to support period nirvana and all the vendors PN supports too! Thank you Kim!!

I’ve been a cup user for almost a solid 2 years and I had ordered off of Rebel Kate the first time. Then I discovered the Saal cup and used it because my Rebel Kate cup started trapping in the period odors I had even after washing over and over and over again. And let me tell ya.... I LOVE this cup. It has two more additional air chambers than my other cup did so insertion is made waaaay easier than my previous cup. Because it’s a much smoother silicone than my previous cup, it does not trap odors whatsoever. I also feel like my cycles are much shorter because of the size of the cup, which allows more drainage for me. The best part: I’ve hardly had any issues with leakage. I will definitely be buying from this site again when the time comes. But for now, I am very content.
