First time using a reusable product. It was pretty easy to figure out the insertion and removal process. I felt that it cup was a big stiff. It felt big shoving that in, but the cup pops open very nicely. The removal was okay but kind of messy because in order to break the suction I would insert a finger and collapse the cup, and it was usually pretty full so I’d get a fish of blood all over my hands. At first I was happy with it, but my first couple of days are pretty heavy, and I was barely getting two hours in the regular cup. The first change was a little messy, but then I got the hang of it. I work from home so I started changing in the shower.
I ended up trying a larger cup, which I didn’t like (Venus cup was only slightly softer but I had trouble popping it open and it wouldn’t give me much more time before leaking), and then switched to a Lumma disc which I love love love! I would have tried the Saalt soft if it wasn’t for my need for higher capacity.
I would recommend the Saalt cup for someone whose periods are not too heavy, or on lighter days.

I love Saalt cups and bought this one as a replacement for a cup which has a stem that I cut too short. I did not know that I had a regular so I accidentally ordered the small this time around, but I am going to try this one out and likely empty it more often on my day 1 +2, my heaviest days.

Great cup can’t complain about it I’ve tried used the Eva cup and I prefer the saalt cup

It didn't work for me. Technically, I haven't used it on my period yet, but I tried a dry run three times and each time it creeped up and suctioned around my cervix (I'm pretty sure) within an hour. I love the firmness, it pops open super easily and before it got to my cervix it was totally comfortable. However, the very first time I tried was kind of scary because I was new to cups and after I started feeling the a bit of discomfort and pain that sort of came in waves, I tried taking it out and it took some serious digging to break the suction. The reason I am still giving it three starts is because I highly doubt that I would have any leaking whatsoever with this, I really love the color (it's a little less orange than the photo, but it seems like a color that wouldn't show stains super easily while still being cute), and most importantly I think this was partly user error.
I got a size regular instead of small, and I didn't use a cup that was specifically for high cervix. Honestly I chose this cup mostly because of the price and I chose a regular because I get really heavy periods and never had any previous vaginal sensitivities. I think I might have had a better experience if hadn't done that. However, this had kind of scared me off of suction so I might try a menstrual disc next.

It was an okay cup. The first time I tried it, it was very firm and somewhat put pressure on my bladder but also easy to open. It has 7 months since I used it, and I have gotten used to it.
The only problem is that for every month that I used it, there is still some leaking which means I have wear some kind of light backup like period underwear or a resusable pad. For a reference, I don’t think I have a heavy flow and I also have the cup in the small size. Maybe just the first day.
However, I think it’s a great starting cup and works perfectly on those medium to light flow days. I also find that as someone who is not athletic, working out minimizes the feeling the pressure from the cup.

This is the first period cup I have tried. Before trying the cup, I was a hardcore pad user. I was shocked to discover that I cannot feel this cup when it is inserted properly. I experienced very minor leaks which I believe came from removal and insertion and only happened on my heaviest days. It was honestly probably the best period I have ever had. Removal of the cup was difficult. The suction on this cup is unreal! I attempted to break the suction before pulling it out but that was nearly impossible. Overall, I recommend this cup to anyone who wants to get away from pads and tampons.

I really enjoy most everything about the Saalt cup. It is a bit firmer than I was expecting and I'm experiencing a little bit of bladder pressure, but it's a tradeoff because it really is the perfect firmness that it pops open so much more easily than some softer cups I've used in the past. The shape of the cup really helps it pop open super easily as well, so I would definitely recommend it to a first time cup user because it is definitely one of the easiest cups I've ever used. The only other downside is it's a bit small and would need to be emptied more often than once a day if you have a heavy flow day.

Love this cup! My favorite of the SALLT brands.

I bought this one because it was recommended especially since this was my first time. I will say when put in correctly it worked really well for me and I could go all day at work without worrying about anything. I did had a problem with it lowering itself when I worked out but I think I wasn't inserting it correctly. It's very flexible and easy to squeeze to insert, I just struggle with getting it to open fully. I do recommend this one for first time users because it was very flexible and easy to maneuver. I have been getting better with it, it is just a learning curve and if you do put in the effort it will help you save money. I haven't bought pads in 3 months, which is nice because I have to use dye free all cotton pads/tampons. I am actually going to try and use a menstural disc because the suction from the cup bothers me. I have tried two different cups and removing it bothers me. My gyno recommnded trying a disc.

This was a purchase for a friend because I absolutely SWEAR by a menstrual cup! Love this community! Love this site for all the helpful tips!

I am loving it! Way more convenient, better for the wallet & environment! Of course takes some getting used to but once you do it’s so much easier than tampons, no leaks either!!!

The Saalt Cup is a great menstrual cup. I’m a female wrestler in high school so I’m very active. I’ve had no issues with it. I recommend it for any body wanting to try a menstrual cup. I have the size small in the color Himalayan. Tampons, even on the heaviest absorption, I still leak with them, but with the Saalt menstrual cup I have not!

I'm still getting used to putting it in and taking it out. Personally taking it out is more difficult than inserting it but I'm getting used to it with every change out. the fact that I can have that bad boy in there 12 hours and not be concerned about leakage. GAME CHANGER. so much better than tampons. and good for the environment?? win win win.

I started with a Lumma Disc (it came with two sizes) but that was not working for me. It just seemed all smushed up in there no matter what way I positioned it. I then took the period nirvana quiz. I wasn't sure how to answer a couple of the questions, but I was matched with a small saalt cup. This is so much better for me! It's maybe not 100% leak proof but I have only had it for a month, so I am maybe still learning. Also it is quite difficult to get out, I wish that part of the design could be a bit improved somehow. But this is feels like about as good a fit as I will find maybe. It is very comfortable to wear. I have a tilted uterus, per a doctor, if this information is of use to someone.

I'm still in the learning period with my saalt cup, but I really like it! (I keep liners and tampons on hand just in case.) My only con is that when I have heavy days, I have to empty it more frequently. After I get the hang of using this cup (because it fits well), I'll look into purchasing one with a higher capacity.
I didn't know that a menstrual cup was an option until 1 year ago. I eventually read more about them online and found Period Nirvana's YouTube channel. This product is a game changer!

It is the first time I have used anything other than a pad.. So I was a little nervous.. But I have to admit this is the first time that I've waited and hoped my period would come soon lol.. The videos I found on the insta and YouTube made the first use so much easier, the cup went in and open with such an ease I was sure I was doing it wrong hahah.. Once in it is very comfortable, at the beginning I had the sensation that it was there, and unconsciously clenching everything "to keep it in"... But after few hours I forgot it was there and everything felt right. I'm on day 2 of my period and haven't had a leak, so that makes me happy. The more I use it the more comfortable I feel with it.
A tip: if you are not comfortable with your body and "maneuvering" things down there it might feel a little weird for you since at least for me, the taking it out part needs a little "diggin" (high cervix and short fingers seems to be the winning combo lol) but nothing painful or uncomfortable just unusual :)
I recommended it if you have issues with liners and pads (over the last months I developed an allergy because of the heat the pads caused and it began usually on day 2 of my period) or even if you want a more eco-friendly option than tampons. :)

First time user and this was the online quiz recommendation. Pro: I was able to go on a 5 hour hike (plus 1 hour driving each way) and dinner without having to deal with changing a tampon multiple times Con: 1) Some minor leaking that was probably user error. 2) Apparently I have a really high cervix (I put that in the quiz). It was impossible to reach and pinch the cup to break the seal, I could barely even touch the stem. It was frighteningly difficult to remove both times I tried it. It's probably a great option for some, I'll have to try something else.

I actually liked the Saalt cup much more than I expected. I've only been using it for one cycle so far. But its been pretty great. There have been some minor leaking, but I expected that as I get to know the cup and figure it out. It opens much better and seals much better than my Diva cup. It is also easier to reach to remove for my higher cervix days. Definitely going to be continuing to use it.

Bit of a learning curve, but once I got the hang of it, it was super easy. So glad I don’t have to worry ab changing my tampon every 3-4 hours anymore.
VIRGINIA D.
It was way easier then I thought

Honestly I thought it was really nice, it was WAY more comfortable then the giant tampons I had been using! I have a really heavy flow and once I got the hang of the cup, takes a second to find the perfect schedule for dumping it out based on flow, it worked really well for it! I worried it was going to be hard to put in or take out but honestly after one or two tries it’s really not bad at all. Very happy that I made the switch!

I’ve always wanted to try a cup because I was always worrying about leaking. This works great with a heavy flow and I don’t have to find time to change tampons during class or activities. There are only two things that are taking some getting used to. 1, I can sometimes feel it after inserting it, which never happened with tampons. It’s usually fine because I know it’s still suctioned and I can usually fix it by just sitting or squatting. 2, it’s pretty messy to remove. I expected that, but you’ll need to get used to it. It wouldn’t be great to empty in a public restroom, but that doesn’t really seem like a problem because I only really have to change it 2-3 times a day.

Amazing super comfortable and flexible!

Trying a menstral cup for the first time was very intimidating for me but after just one period using it I can't see myself going back to pads! Only had one small leak from not getting a good seal but other than that it went perfect. I love how long it can stay in without any fuss. So happy with my purchase!

It was good, I think it fits right because it does suction but it does leak some and I have to wear a pantie liner. Which is annoying because I really don’t want to wear any pads atall
Sarah B.
Why did I not try this sooner. This is so much better than tampons. Never again. Buying my daughter one ASAP!

I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis, which actually explains a lot for me. I’ve used almost solely tampons ever since I first got my period (yay for starting it the day of a swim meet!), but lately tampons had been hurting more and more to insert and remove. That wasn’t fun on top of how cruddy I usually feel during period. (Plus I was frankly sick of having to continually purchase them.) So I decided to try out a menstrual cup—and I have never been happier that I did! It took a bit of practice (and watching videos in different folding techniques) to get good seals, but the difference of a period on a menstrual cup versus on tampons is astounding. I didn’t realize just how uncomfortable I was with a tampon in (and I swear I was inserting it correctly because I could eventually forget about it) until I literally forgot I had a menstrual cup in within minutes of inserting it. And taking it out was painless. It’s safe to say I reached nirvana!
The Saalt cup small definitely works well for me. I have to empty it more frequently on heavy flow days, which I’m fine with, but the size of it is perfect for me. I didn’t even have to trim the stem! Cleaning it and sanitizing it is a breeze, and the most difficult part is keeping my cat from playing with it when it’s drying (he gets into everything, I swear). Thank you so much for the quiz that helped me find this product! It’s definitely changed how I experience my periods.

I did experience some leaking in the beginning, but after playing around with it the cup is the perfect replacement for tampons/pads.

The Saalt cup is my definite go to!

The packaging was amazing, but the instructions were a bit unclear as a first time cup user. The images could’ve been more detailed, and I think more steps would’ve been helpful.

What do you need to know to prepare for having a period cup? Here’s my story. Buckle up.
First, I asked my husband if he’d be opposed to me boiling my cups in a pot to avoid that fight. Lol He was fine.
Then, I ordered it. It took some extra time for them to arrive, but I got a coupon code in exchange! Worth it.
Next, I took to TikTok and the blogs on period nirvana to prep myself. I also enlisted the help of all the women in my life. None of which have used a cup before... so not helpful.
I saw that I could practice prior to my period which had my type-A-ass excited!
I started by inserting the first time in the shower. It just seemed right. I don’t know.
After an hour of really getting to know my vagina and how to make it shorter and longer in forty different positions, I removed it! Not before my husband called my mom and asked if this was worthy of taking me to the emergency room. Yes, actually.
After this attempt, I gave my lady parts a rest and tried again after a few days. This time, I still struggled, but it for easier with every attempt.
Finally, the fateful day of my period arrived! I’d practiced FOUR WHOLE TIMES for this. I was ready.
I inserted that sucker like a champ! I texted all my friends who are awaiting my reviews and told them of my triumph.
When it came to removal, I was confident. I was cocky. I was... clumsy. Dropped that shit right into my fresh pee in the toilet. Isn’t that what tweezers are for anyway- fishing things from gross places?
I was not discouraged. I washed that puppy and got back to the task at hand!
After wearing it a full day and not worrying about needing to be near a bathroom for 12 hours, not having a single leak, not worrying about peeing and getting a tampon string wet or having a rash from a pad, I was sold. Done deal. I’m converted.
P.S. I am someone who has severe cramps and always has. On this one period, my cramps have lessened. I’ll keep evaluating to determine if the cup is the cure.

First time using it yesterday, high cervix.
I still struggle with getting in as far as I can but I will say it’s fantastic !
No leaks, you feel clean on your period, & comfortable (keep trying you’ll get there) !
It’s not “nasty” it’s just blood in a cup. Just rinse it and you’re fine.
I LOVE IT !

Love my saalt cup!!
