I have very painful cramps the first couple days of my period so it wasn't super comfortable this first time around but the rest of the week went wonderful! No leaks and could hardly tell it was there. Great for period sex, although it wasn't the most comfortable for my partner to have the tab on it so I might get one without just for that and keep one with a tab for the rest of my period. I've tried menstrual cups before but the suction really seemed to bother my cervix so this was a great swap and I love the feeling of being clean + no bloody mess in my underwear!
Tiana F.
Pros:
- So comfortable I forget I have it in
- Does not make my cramps worse
- No leaks!
- Easy to rinse/wash off after emptying
Cons:
- I can only insert when one leg is hiked up on the counter or tub
- Would not feel comfortable/sanitary removing and reinserting in public bathrooms
‼️ TMI Warning ‼️
I used a Lily Cup for a year or so before realizing either the suction, firmness, or position in my huha made my period cramps worse. Before that, I used disposable pads bc tampons always leaked (blood clots would wrap around the tampon and let the rest of the blood flow around it). Then I switched to period underwear which were cool but got annoying to change out of at least twice a day. Also it sometimes felt like I was getting a rash on my heavier days.
So I gave this a shot bc my biggest fear with discs was having to shove my whole hand up there to find it and get it out, and the loop seemed like a great way to prevent that. It is
I use the flip method and all I have to do is sit back on the toilet seat or hike a leg up on the tub if I’m in the shower, use one finger to find the loop, and pull it out. The loop never moved around after going about my day or waking up in the morning, so I never had to search for it.
My only real issue is that I have to hike my leg up to put it back in comfortably and without feeling like I’m going to drop it. Also mine does get messy at the sides and bottom so I feel the need to wash it and my hands before reinserting. So those two together means I probably won’t try removing in a public bathroom. But I think I can definitely leave it in with no problems for 12 hours even on my heavy days so that shouldn’t be a problem.
Also also, turns out I can auto-dump when I poop. Shout out to all the double dumpers

I've used cups before, but only for the brief time between going off birth control and getting pregnant with my soon-to-be five-year-old. After having him, I went back on birth control and didn't think about periods or period products again. At least, not until I decided to sterilize myself and go BC-free this January. For my first period, I tried a Yuuki cup. I loved its rainbow coloring, but it was just. so. uncomfortable. I thought that maybe after having a baby, internal menstruation products just weren't in the cards for me.
Before giving up entirely, I took the Period Nirvana quiz. I'm so glad I did, too! It recommended the Hello disc. I waffled back and forth, thinking I'd just try my cup again, but eventually decided to save myself another agonizingly painful cycle and buy the disc.
When the Hello disc came, my wife and I laughed about how it looks like the top of a coke can (it really does, especially with the pull tabs!!). After cleaning, in it went. Well, in it *tried*. For the first few days, inserting the Hello disc felt almost exactly like trying to insert a flaccid penis. It just curled up on itself and popped right back out! I guess that's the trade-off for having a softer, more comfortable silicone, but the disc has definitely got a bit of a learning curve to it (if you're near a faucet, run the disc under cold water to stiffen it up a bit, then support it with a finger during insertion). Once in place, though, the Hello disc is SO COMFORTABLE. Most of the time, I don't even notice it's there, which is really all I could ever ask for. As for leaks, I have yet to experience any. In fact, on days when I'd bleed through my underwear and pants with the Yuuki cup, I was able to confidently go commando with the Hello disc. Clean removal, even with the tabs, is tricky, especially in public bathrooms. Where cups are easy to remove, dump out, and reinsert with minimal mess, discs will get blood all over your hands during the same process. If you don't want to walk out to the sink looking like you're leaving a crime scene, I recommend keeping some hand sanitizer with you. On the bright side, auto dumping is the bee's knees. Hopefully, after a few cycles, I'll be able to control that a little better so I won't have to deal with the mess in a public bathroom.
Tl,Dr: the Hello disc is way more comfortable and reliably leak free than some cups, but can be messy and hard to insert when you're getting used to it. All in all, it's pretty rad, and has earned its place as my main period product.

I had previously bought a Diva Cup without much research done as to the height of my cervix or anything else - just to save myself some money in the long run and trying to help the earth and whatnot. However, my cup would always get lost inside me and I would be unable to easily remove it or if it stayed, there was always leakage. Basically, it didn't work for me. Then I found Period Nirvana's IG and through the Period Nirvana quiz I matched with Hello Disc and after using it for my period the first time, I love it. I didn't deal with the discomfort that the cup would make me feel, it was easy to insert and remove, and did not give me any leakage for the entire day. I am extremely satisfied and have begun to recommend to others. Thank you!

AMAZING, I could cry. I was tired of dealing with the frustration, leaks and discomfort of my bloody buddy cup, I threw it out during my previous menstrual cycle and went back to tampons. I ordered this period disc as a last ditch effort and my periods are forever changed. Your clothes will thank you, goodbye tide pen.
Ashley F.
I have used a cup before but the disk was new to me. I really struggle with the insert. I am hoping that just come with practice but and loving that the disk stays in place, I have no leaking and removal is mess free!
Miranda R.
I only gave it four stars due to the fact the disc is too firm for me, I love the concept and the pull tab. I had no leaking issues or popping it in place where the pubic bone sat. I just wish there was a softer version for the Hello disc. If you ever decided to make a softer version I would defiantly buy it :)
D'Anna H.
I've been a cup girlie for a little over a year now and I started out with a June cup because it was cheap and low risk if I didn't like it, but after some practice I really did love it. I decided that I should try to get a better cup, and also try a disk after watching period nirvana on Yt. The cup I ordered was meh, I actually preferred my other one, but the hello disc was far better than I expected and I liked it a lot. It is much easier to insert and remove than the cup and it did exactly what I needed it to do. I might be a disk girlie now.
Sarah
Been using a menstrual cup for years but after watching your videos I wanted to try the hello disc. First period done and it was brilliant. It is messier than a cup but with practice that should get better. Brilliant product!
Jennifer P.
I found the disc to be easier to use than the cup. Not difficult to insert or remove. Pretty easy to clean. It is self emptying you just have to readjust afterwards. I am very happy with the Hello version. I had a Diva cup before and it was very difficult to remove, and have thrown it out. Before buying a product make sure you know if your cervix is high or low, this helps a lot. I wished I had known about discs earlier in my life.

The two months I've had the Hello Disc have featured the two most stress-free periods of my life! I had attempted cups a couple of times, but they were always uncomfortable and I abandoned them quickly. I don't even feel the disc in, and I feel like I got the hang of it much quicker. I love that I don't have to worry about anything for 12 hours at a time (with enough wiggle room to play with), and the disc also holds more flow than even my "heavy day" period panties, which constantly leaked on me. The closest I get to "leakage" is the tiny leftovers from a "self-empty" on my heaviest days, which is totally manageable. I'm absolutely a convert!
Regla S.
Best thing ever invented. I was going on vacation and needed to think of something quick. I asked my friend and she told me to search for a period disc, I can't thank her enough.
Jennifer C.
This is a personal period revolution! I've been experimenting with reusable methods for over a decade with mixed results. I wanted to love menstrual cups but they just didn't work for me. I thought disks were going to be more of the same, but after some research, I gave it a try; this is what I have been searching for!
It was actually much easier to use than I expected. The Hello cup has a convenient pull tab that made removal a cinch and it wasn't messy at all for me! The next time I make a purchase, I might try to find something a little bit smaller, but literally everything else about the Hello disk was spot on (while being spot free!)
Taylor R.
First time I’ve ever tried a disc or cup and I think I’ve found the one! I I’ve used the Hello Disc for one cycle so far and it was easy to learn to use and comfortable to wear. I have an IUD and have been looking for a more sustainable option for managing my periods. I have been a pad/panty liner user for most of my menstrual life. Tampons always seem to give me headaches and I have an extreme dislike for them. The Hello Disc is much more convenient than constantly changing pads/liners and I feel much cleaner throughout the day. I only had one small leak on my heaviest day when I accidentally overfilled the disc after 6 hours of wear. I’m still figuring out what works for a mess free removal but it is safe to say I’m a fan!
Suzanne L.
Hello! Lol. I started with the Flex throw away, then noticed they had a reusable. Then I discovered Period Nirvana. I just had to try the Hello disc. I like the firmness and notch of the flex disc for easy insertion. But now I realize the flex disc was too big and would pop out of place. The Hello disc fits better and I love the loop for ease of removal. I feel more confident that the Hello disc will stay in place. I ended up cutting off one of the loops. The single loop works perfectly for me! I would like if it were a bit firmer. I find I need a bit of lube early and late during my period for inserting. Someone else’s review said the same, so thank you!
Keisha G.
I like the loops that it had. It was easy to dump. Insertion was a little difficult because of firmness. It was still a good purchase.
Reagan D.
As someone who has never put anything other than tampons inside of me, I was worried about the large size of the disc. But after only few times using it, it was incredibly easy and intuitive to use. It reduced my cramping drastically and made my period much more manageable and convenient for my busy life.
Randa O.
It's a learning experience. This is the 3rd type of reusable period product I've tried and it's for sure my favorite. Alot less messy and easy to remove and clean. It takes a minute to get it in the first time and make sure it's right but don't give up it's worth it!
Sydney R.
I decided to make the leap from cup to disc. And it was so worth it!! Much easier insertion and removal. Personally I had some slight discomfort wearing, but nothing unbearable. Worked very well for a heavy flow and no leaks! Totally recommend :)
Andree
I’m totally in love. I’ve never tried any kind of reusable menstrual product but have always wanted to try. I was matched with the hello disc from the quiz and purchased that (I have an iud). I was kind of nervous to try it but I did my research from the Period Nirvana videos and felt confident. I’ve never been much of a tampon person, so I was worried how this would go but I was so pleasantly surprised with the hello disc. I’ve been wearing it in the flipped position which is perfect for my high cervix and easy removal. Removal has been basically mess free, although it needs some practice. But I’m so excited to keep using it and I’ve already been recommending it to friends.
Lesli H.
The Hello disc is amazing. I was nervous at first but I think I found the one. After trying a couple different cups I think this disc will be it for me. no leaks. Easy removal and mess free after I got the hang of it.
Melody S.
Made it through my first period using the hello disc and it was quite an experience. I read a lot of reviews, watched a lot of videos and chose this product because it seemed like a solid option. People often used the phrase "learning curve" to describe how to use it, but I'd say it was not as much that as it was body exploration. I tried 5 times on the first day of my period to get the thing in and couldn't. I'd added lube, folded it just right, was angling it towards my tailbone, relaxing and breathing, and when trying to slide it in it was terribly painful and wasn't even going halfway in. While my first reaction was to freak out that my vagina had somehow closed up, I tried yet again. I had to first stick my finger into my body (I was making sure it hadn't closed up, lol) and then followed the folded disc in and it slid right into place and tucked behind my pubic bone super easily. (Only once during my period was I able to just slide it in without putting in a finger first, but I think over the next few months it'll get easier.) The first time I wore it tucked and it took a solid 7 minutes to get it out. I could feel the loop but seriously couldn't get it on my finger(s). When I wore the loops down that worked a little better but was slightly uncomfortable, so flipped was definitely the best. Up to this point I'd only ever used tampons/pads, so this was an incredibly different experience, but I would HIGHLY recommend.
Anieke P.
I decided to try a disc after seeing Period Nirvana YT Shorts about the higher capacity than cups/tampons and mess-free period sexy times. My hello disc did deliver perfectly on both of those fronts. My only gripe is the much messier removal than I'm used to with cups or tampons, which wasn't a big deal on my lighter flow days when I could remove, clean and reinsert in the shower. Overall, I'm very happy with my disc, and I would recommend if the advantages outweigh having to deal with a bit of a mess on heavier days when you remove to empty/clean it.
Alissa M.
It is messy upon removal and leaks if you are heavy and after 2 1/2 hours after inserted. If I ever had a bowel movement, the cup moved out of place causing horrible leaks. It is a bit uncomfortable to wear. This is my first time using it, so I may have inserted incorrectly. On day 2 and 3 when my period wasn’t as heavy, I could wear the cup longer without experiencing leaks.
Jennifer
As a 35 year old woman, going from traditional products to this was scary. But I have actually fallen in love with this. After having to get used to inserting, I find it very comfortable and leak proof. Now 17 yo daughter wants one. Thanks
Amie F.
First cycle using Hello disc- loving it. No leaks yet and I’ve been bleeding pretty heavily…. I would say insertion takes a few times before you figure it out but practice makes perfect. The pull tab is a game changer for me because I’m plus size and always had trouble retrieving other discs. Would definitely recommend.
Koren L.
I like this disc, I’m a long nail type of girl and I currently have long stiletto shaped nails. I recently started using disc, I have the small and regular Saalt. This disc made removal much easier, even with my long nails. Inserting was a little difficult but that’s because I was nervous I’d poke a hole into the disc. The disc survived my nails and I didn’t really poke myself too much. I just suggest that if you do have long nails, to wash under your nails throughly before and after, and take your time so that you avoid poking yourself.
Loreydi V.
I think the disc is great, but when i put it on, no matter how much i push it to go further it still feels like it pushes on my vagina walls and it is uncomfortable. Am i doing something wrong? Or is it maybe that the disc is a little big for me?
Please help me
Jessi N.
I was VERY nervous to try the hello disc. I was convinced I would never be able to get it out lol. I’m a plus sized gal, so i was skeptical. When I first tried the disc, I had some trouble inserting it (hot tip: use lube!) Be warned, there is a learning curve BUT, once you get the hang of it, it’s quite simple. This disc holds a lot! I had just a few minimal leaks while I was getting the hang of things but that was to be expected. Removal is the easiest part, to my surprise!! The loops allow for you to decide which length works best for you. Auto dumping is a game changer and makes emptying way less messy. Overall, I’m very pleased with the hello disc and am glad I took the plunge to try it!
Courtney
GAME CHANGER!!
I didn’t buy the disc from this website but felt I needed to leave a review here as well!
I have used cups for 5+ years and I’ve had leaks, trouble getting it in and out but lived with it because it’s loads better than any other product
The disc is amazing, so easy and 8 hours and no leaks!! (Definitely can wear it longer but I prefer 8 hours)
My period was a breeze and enjoyed it in a way ( as much as you can )
Hannah B.
Totally comfortable and easy to put in and take out. I like that it can stay in for 12 hours with no leaks and just makes that time of the month a little easier to deal with!
K P.
I moved to cups during the pandemic (Saalt) and thought I could never go back to tampons. Where were cups all my life? This past Christmas, this disc was my first attempt at trying discs, and now I can’t go back to cups lol! Some of the issues I had with cups like feeling the pressure and leaks with the cup not always opening properly are all solved with this disc. I wouldn’t have wanted to try any other disc, but the design of the hello disc with the removal tab was what prompted me to even try and let me tell you, it is absolutely fantastic. I have been three cycles in and no issues with leaks (I do experience auto dumping in the toilet on my heaviest days), but I am still learning how to get the disc in one go without it flipping open first lol. Kim’s instructional videos were a huge help for a first timer and the trick to use some lubricant is actually a lifesaver. I find the disc to be even better than my favorite menstrual cups.
Miranda G.
Easy to use! Soooo comfortable! My cramps actually subside when I'm using the disc! I love it!
Catherine M.
While I want to like this product, insertion is just so difficult! I'm an experienced cup user, so maybe there is just some trick to inserting discs that I am not aware of. Every time I go to insert it, it doesn't remain folded (resulting in me having to mash the disc up in there). Once it's in place, it's great. While it is leak free when in place, both the emptying process and insertion are quite messy, which requires a lot of cleanup. I'm not sure how I would empty it if I wore the disc in public, as I don't want to spend 15 minutes in a bathroom stall trying to insert it.
Christina M.
Incredibly difficult to insert- the disc wants to pop open so bad that you’re just fighting it the whole time during insertion. Total disappointment. Easiest removal ever for sure, but not worth it.
Savanna
I am so disappointed that I spent so much money on this disc. I loved flex discs and wanted to try something more reusable. First, when you go to insert, the disc collapses on itself when you push on it making this a long and complicated process. Then, once in, it is uncomfortable. I couldn't feel the flex disc but the Hello puts pressure on all the wrong places and so I'm miserable when wearing it. Last, I can't auto-dump it like I could the flex. This means I actually have to remove it, dump it, clean it up the best I can and then start from square one with the tricky insertion with a bloody disc in a public bathroom. Not fun. For the price, I wanted to love it. The saving grace is that it doesn't leak and SOMETIMES if I'm in just the right position, I can pretend it's not there...
Archelle E.
Finishing my first cycle with Hello disc. Super comfortable and worked for me pretty much exactly how it’s supposed to. Did not leak even after 12 hours at a pretty active job. It’s true there’s a learning curve, to insertion&removal, and also to getting used to how it feels in your body. I use a little lube every time I insert it, I find that helps a lot. I haven’t mastered the mess-free removal, but I’m down to only a 1 or 2 finger mess so I consider it a win. Overall I can recommend Hello and even considering the awkwardness when starting with a new product like this, it was maybe the most comfortable period I’ve ever had.
Joanna S.
This is the best thing ever! I have a heavy heavy heavy flow and now I can go all day with a disc and ONE backup pad. I used to wear overnight pads and have to change them every hour or two, but now I just empty the disc on the toilet without the huge mess of changing a tampon. It used to look like I had shoved my hand in someone's chest and grabbed their heart. Now it's a clean, quick, pelvic-adjusting empty until the end of the day - yes removing it there is still blood EVERYWHERE, but that's just twice a day. Thank YOU for making this product!!!
Cara C.
I have really enjoyed the HELLO disc so far. I’ve used it for 2 cycles and it’s really improved my life while menstruating. I don’t get leaks and it’s very comfortable to insert and wear. My periods tend to be heavy due to the copper iud but the hello disc keeps up with me. I do recommend rinsing in cold water to avoid a smell!
Katrina L.
This disc is a game changer! My favorite things:
1. It's like a crockpot--set it and forget it (up to 12 hours).
2. So comfortable that you forget you are on your period.
3. No leaks (yet...I've had it for 6 cycles).
4. I never have to buy tampons or pads again--save the environment AND my wallet!
5. The pull tab man. Especially if you have a high cervix like I do, having both the loops always there to easily find is just such a lifesaver.
At first, I was nervous to try any cups or discs. I had just gotten used to tampons, but hated how they always leaked (clots went past them), and how it felt pulling them out. I found Period Narvana on YouTube and went down a rabbit hole of Kim's videos. The biggest concern I had with the disc, however, was not being able to get them out. The Hello disc is wonderful because of the adjustable pull tab. The trick is in putting the disc in--But I followed Kim's instruction and was able to get it on the second try. It really is all about pinching it closed with one hand and pushing with the other. After a couple rounds, it really becomes second nature, and soon I could do it in about 30 seconds. I really could go on and on about how life changing this disc is!
Desireé
Amazing! I’ve used cups before and had trouble with them leaking and not staying in place. After a lot of research, I decided on the Hello Disc. This is my first disc and I was nervous about the learning curve. However I found it SUPER easy to put in, take out, and had zero issues with leaks. I LOVE it! I am SO glad I found this product and plan to stick to this going forward. I’ll also be telling my friends about it.
Madison L.
I’ve been using discs for over a year now.
Hello Disc is my choice thus far, but I have one or two more I’d like to try.
Pros:
- I hardly leak even on heavy flow days. I’ll say that the little leaks I do have could be prevented with an auto emptying, mid day. Compared to prior discs that would leak more even with “auto emptying”; the hello disc does far better.
-I have a weak pelvic floor, and tampons would make my pain worse— the disc doesn’t ache near as bad.
-I work in an ER so peeing on those days is a rare occurrence— the disc is wonderful compared to tampons/maintenance.
-More cost effective.
-I like the different ways the tab can be used.
Cons:
- It is a little trickier to fold up and insert than other discs I’ve tried. It seems to have a little more firmness, which could be why I don’t leak like I do with others. So this isn’t that big of a deal to me.
-The silicone stains. I didn’t have this problem with my other discs but the Hello disc got discolored very quickly. It doesn’t affect anything, but none the less.
Overall, I continue to use hello disc, and will try out a couple more simply out of curiosity.
Will definitely not be going back to tampons.
Jennifer A.
I tried this because I wanted to switch from tampons to something more eco friendly. I'm not sure if I love it though. It was easy enough to insert after watching a couple YouTube videos and I didn't have any leakage by the second time I put it in. I've never used any other cup or disc so I had no idea what to expect but it's much messier than I'd hoped for when taking it out. And I'm not entirely sure how I'd use it if I wasn't at home with an easily accessible sink to rinse. I've only used it for one cycle and might give it one more try but I have a feeling it's gonna be tampons for me.
Yun G.
I have arms and fingers just short enough to struggle with menstrual cups. Even so, internal period products work best for me; dried pubic blood flakes is not something I want to go back to. Pull tab is a godsend but it can be felt from time to time. Pulling this baby out is easy as pie. I took one star off because it kinda feels like.. there’s a ever present pressure from the disc diameter being slightly too big for me.
Jennifer B.
Very happy with the disc, I have used it for one cycle and no leaks. Very easy to remove, but it loses a star for me because I found it a bit harder to insert than the other disc I have used. The rim on this disc is softer and is a bit squishier when inserting. But so.much.easier. to remove. So probably going to stick with it
Cassandra A.
I've used cups for years at this point but this was my first time trying a disc. My reason for switching is that I have an average to high cervix and very short fingers, so removal was an issue on more than one occasion. The Hello Disc seemed like the perfect option for this reason, with the easy removal tab and placement being so different. I did a trial insertion before my period and found it pretty easy to use, although the shape being so much bigger than a cup did give me pause at first. The first time using it on my period I felt like I was leaking a few times, but never did have any leaks at all. After the initial 6 hours or so that went away and I felt very secure with it.
The reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is because I noticed a lot of cramping that seemed related to the disc. I normally only have cramps for the day before my period and then the first day, but I had cramps throughout the four and a half days I wore this disc, which went away when I switched to liners. I will definitely be giving it another go and I hope that the cramps were unrelated, because I otherwise really liked this experience. Removal (using the tab flipped) was always a breeze, I never experienced any autodumping, and it was not messy at all! I think if this product continues to give me cramps I will probably try the flex cup next.
Sammy C.
It was ok. Everything is better than tampons or pads... I have used a cup for the past 2 years and wanted to try something different. I actually find the disc easier to put in (two-handed though), the way it pops open once it's in is really nice feature. I like that it also holds more and I don't worry about it leaking. I have a super heavy period and found an extra large cup that would still spill on my 2nd day. I'm hopeful for the disc. The tab is good, except the whole process is still messy. I don't love that. Also, I fold the pull tab, but I may just cut it, it's very long. I want to try period sex though, stoked for that, but have not yet.
Nicole
Hello Disc is the very first and last reusable menstrual product I have used.
I have always had very painful heavy and random periods due to PCOS. In my experience tampons made my cramps significantly worse. The Hello disc is such a game changer. My cramps are still there but not as bad and that's a win for me. It was an experience to figure out what worked for me and I almost gave up but I'm so glad I didn't. I now have 2 Hello disc's and I will never go back to tampons again.
Anna S.
This was the best period I've ever had, not a single leak!
And it may be anecdotal evidence but I also suffered zero cramps ♀️
Thank you period nirvana!!
Kylie M.
It’s ok. It causes some pretty bad back cramps and the front where the tab is tends to slip down and leak a little. So I’m not super excited.
Jasmine D.
I will say as convenient as it was made out to be it really is not. I find it super hard to insert because the rim is so soft and unfolds so easy. It sucks because if I try to put it in after a shower I find myself having to spend 30 minutes just to insert it even with 2 hands. I'm very used to the firmness of a flex disc and how it didn't unfold so easy. The only thing I wish this had was an option for firmness of the rim because the tab and loop situation helps me alot especially having a high cervix. I'll just end up using this in emergency situations only....when I run out of flex disc.
Elise N.
Love the disc!! Was a long time cup user and recently decided the suction was getting on my last nerves. Easy to insert and even easier to remove!! I think first time disc or cup users will really like this — definitely beginner friendly! Just watch some how to tutorials that period nirvana has on her Instagram and you’re set! Excited to continue using it!
Vannesa E.
life changed!!! just love it, super easy to use.
Makesha W.
Absolutely amazing! I love that I can just find the loop with ease and pull it out no problems.
My menstrual cup I like it, it's just a workout to get a good grip, and squeeze to release the suction to remove it vs the ease of finding the loop and pulling right out.
Mary B.
It was a great it was the best experience I have had with any reusable product during my cycles
Kate V.
Threw away all of my Thinx (toxic chems, gross?!) and was so worried I wouldn't find something else that works. I had used cups in the past but since being pregnant/birthing a kid they just didn't fit/feel/sit right - straight up uncomfortable.
To my surprise and - cannot believe I am saying this word in regards to my period - DELIGHT, the hello disc is perfection. Easy to put in (easier than a cup IMO), a little bit surprise messy taking out the first couple of times but now I know what to expect and have it down. I don't feel it at all, unless it's come a bit out of place after using the bathroom, in which case it's super easy to tuck back in under my pelvic bone. It honestly feels intuitive, which really surprised me. Sleep in it with no leaks - and my flow is HEAVY. Love the long tab option for getting started, and after just 1 day of use, I started doing the flipped tab position since I felt more comfy with removal.
Thank you, people who designed something that actually makes sense and is functional in all the ways, with such lovely attention to detail!
Juliana K.
The Hello Disc was a perfect fit for me. I used the Flex reusable disc previously and it worked great (no leaks and stayed put) but I wanted something with a removal aid. The Hello disc is amazing. Fits snugly, doesn’t leak, and I was able to remove without making a mess. I didn’t have any auto dumping (which is a positive for me). My only down side is it’s a tad difficult to get inserted. It required two hands. I feel like the end doesn’t get as narrow as I would love it to be. But, all in all it’s a great product and will now be my go to period product.
Eb H.
I love this disc so much. I was so afraid of it leaking and it never did.
Angela L.
It was easy to use and worked great from the start. No leaking no issues!

This disc is amazing! I spent a lot of time over the last few years contemplating trying a cup. When I found period nirvana on YouTube I watched every video and finally got up the courage to try it out. I took the quiz on period.shop and am so happy I did. I will never go back to disposable period products.

I bought the Hello. Disc back in November or December. My cycle is irregular and I have to take meds to get it going, so my cycle just started this last week. This disc does what it says it will do. I haven't had any leaks and the pull tab is a life saver!
That being said, it is uncomfortable. I know how to insert a disc. I use the Flex disposable discs in the past and LOVED them. The Hello. Disc is hard to keep closed when inserting it. It fights to come open and sometimes feels like it is trying to flip. I also have used lube to help. I have to stand feet flat and squat all the way to the ground for it to insert somewhat easily. I have a medium to high cervix. I've tried the two different tab options without cutting it, and I can feel them both throughout the day. It also feels like it's pinching me at times.
Also, I'm noticing more cramping than normal, so I am assuming it's the disc.
I wanted this to be my last disc purchase for awhile, but I will be purchasing the Flex reusable disc once I save a bit for another purchase. I never felt the reusable ones when using those.

Love the hello disc! I’ve been using it for a few months now and it is by far the easiest and least messy disc I’ve used. I’m an experienced cup and disc user and while I liked my cups and others discs way more than tampons, none of them match the hello disc! I will use it for the rest of my menstruating days!

I first tried cup and after spending a couple of days contorting myself to get it out of me, I decided it wasn't the right choice for my anatomy. I then bought a Hello Disc on the recommendation of the Period Nirvana instagram account and it's been MUCH better. I'm still deciding if I want to cut off the second ring because it can be irritating if it rotates slightly and rubs. But overall, I'm happy to report that insertion and removal are super easy and comfortable and I haven't experienced any leakage while using this product. Yay!

I used a cup for a year and finally made the switch to a disc. Hello Disc is amazing! Incredibly comfortable and so easy to use. I was scared to try a disc, I really was, but I am so glad I finally did.

I love this disc, and the removal is definitely the easiest of any disc I've used. That said, this stains really, really easily for me, and they're tough to remove even following the Hello instructions, soaking, sunbathing, rubbing with a tightly-knit cloth, etc. I wish they'd make a black version, then it would be perfect.

I am AMAZED. I had tried one cup before a few times and loved the experience but only once I got it in correctly. I found it very difficult to open and tricky to get the placement right. I also tried a flex disposable disc and thought it was easy to get in, loved wearing it, but it took me an HOUR to get it out. This thing on the other hand is amazing!! very easy to insert and place, so comfortable to wear, and SO easy to remove. I am never going back!

This is the best disc I’ve tried yet! The tab makes it so simple to get out. You can tell it’s made of high quality ingredients as well. Highly recommend.

I love the Hello disc.
I have very heavy periods due to a fibroid, so was eager to try menstrual discs after a bad leak on the couch while wearing super absorbent pads.
It took me a while to get the hang of using menstrual discs. I tried the Cora disc, but I had a traumatic experience during removal because I had trouble actually reaching it because I have weak hand strength and limited dexterity. So I decided to try the Hello disc with the pull tab.
I had a hard time getting menstrual discs to work for me. I have a retroflexed uterus and my cervix is not positioned in a way that I can easily get the disc basin underneath it. I was getting leaks and the flow was always on the outside instead of inside the disc.
After about 3 cycles, I was ready to give up on discs because of my retroflexed uterus, which made me really sad, because my heavy periods make it hard to leave my home. BUT then I read a posting on the Period Nirvana Facebook community for troubleshooting. The moderator (Christine? I think) wrote the following:
"[A leak in] less than an hour even on a heavy day seems like the disc isn't situated correctly. Like the disc is acting like a dam and not like a bowl. Be sure to be inserting down, aiming towards the floor, then pushing back as far as you can (thumb trick is helpful here) and then tuck up."
I decided to give it one more try using the "aim towards the floor" and "thumb trick" tips. I was surprised when over the next several hours, there were zero leaks despite being being a heavy day. I didn't even see auto-dumping when I used the bathroom. I started to wonder if my period was lighter that cycle, or maybe I was already going into menopause. Then 8 hours later, I pulled the disc out and A LOT of flow came out. Some of the flow was in the basin and most of it was on the outside.
For me, menstrual discs act more like a dam than a bowl due to my retroflexed uterus, but they are so effective at being a dam that I am very happy with it.
The pull tab allows me to confidently insert the disc to the correct height, knowing that I can safely retrieve it.
The disc has improved my quality of life during my heavy days, and I'm so glad I was able to finally get it to work. Now I can go out for lunch and run errands, even on my heaviest days.

I’ve been a longtime satisfied cup user. I’ve been wanting to try disks and tried lots of recommended ones; nixit, lumma. I couldn’t get them to work for me. I tried hello disk and the insertion was so easy! The other disks were a little too flexible for me but this material was so easy to use. I actually think the pull tab helps me make sure I have it inserted correctly. It’s so comfortable once it’s in and I don’t feel bladder pressure like I did with cups. So happy I tried hello cup!!

I have used the hello disc for two months now. I have used menstrual cups since 2019 but made the shift to discs Dec 2022 after an IUD insertion. I find the Hello Disc to be easy to use for those who are making the transition from cups to discs. The pull tab is an ingenious idea, I've used it in multiple different forms and I haven't had any issues with it! I have had no issues with leaking or accidental auto-dumping, which is something I used to be worried about and why I didn't try discs sooner.
There are some things I'm not the biggest fan of. One thing is the color: I've used it twice and staining is already occurring. I think a darker color like the Diva Disc or Cora Disc use would be a better idea.
The other thing might just be an anatomical/personal issue but I've noticed it puts a little bit of pressure on my bladder. This can make me go to the bathroom more frequently or cause general discomfort in my urinary system. This might just be user error of placing it incorrectly, or an anatomical issue with my own body!

I have been using two cups in the past year. I didn't like the suction of the cups so I decided to make the switch to the Hello disk. I love the pull tab as someone with a high cervix. As a cup user, the learning curve for a disk was easier and much quicker. I hardly leak anymore with the Hello disk compared to when I used cups. Glad I made the switch.

This is my 10 month review. I received this in March-April 2021 and I haven’t used any other menstrual product since. This product has never failed me, never leaked, and it’s provided complete comfort every month. It’s an amazing disc and it’s allowed me to do everything I want in my day without needing to worry. I talk about this disc to every bleeder I know lol

This is my first time using a disc after trying a couple of different cups and I will not be going back to the cups! The disc was very easy to insert after I read the instructions and removing it is easy as well with the tab being very accessible. I am usually able to remove it without getting any blood on me, though one time I did end up with blood all over my hand. I cannot feel the disc inside of me at all which is the biggest difference from the menstrual cups I'd used. I had zero issues with leaking and I probably would have forgotten all about my period if it weren't for the obnoxious cramps that accompany it. I emptied the disc twice daily, and it was able to accommodate all of my blood even on my heaviest days. I have only used it for one cycle so far, but there has not been any staining to the cup so far (not a big issue for me anyhow though). Overall, this is a much more comfortable product and I really appreciate the design that makes it user friendly.

I wish a 3.5 stars was possible, this was a mixed bag for me. Age 30, never had kids, but I have a copper IUD... which means my periods are painful, long and extremely heavy. It is not abnormal for me to go through 3 or more overnight-weight pads on the first day of my period.
PROs:
-Good price
- Good for the environment
- Infinitely better experience than wearing pads. This was one of the first times I wasn't worried about "springing a leak" which is so often the case for me.
- I often get irritation from wearing pads and this helped tremendously.
CONS:
- Made my cramps WORSE! This was the worst part for me, somehow the way it sits just seems to cause more pain than usual.
- I still had to wear a pad, which I expected b/c my period is so heavy.
- A little bit big and uncomfortable.
I think this isn't the cup/disk for me and I just need to try some alternatives. Hopefully my experience will help others in similar situations to make an informed decision.

My favorite disc!! I’ve also used with Lumma, Cora, Nixit. It does not leak! And it holds up the blood on my heaviest day. I don’t feel anything when it’s in there. And removal is super easy. The only downside is that insertion is not so comfortable, given the thick rim and the unevenness of the pull tab. Overall it’s still be best disc for me!
Brighton H.
I have used a couple different cups before but the hello disk was the first disk I’ve ever tried and I’m really happy with my discussion to try it out. Definitely takes a minute to get used to but I’ve had none of the issues so far that I had with cups. No leaks at all. And I have gone on runs and I lift weights so pretty active with it and it doesn’t budge at all and I can’t even feel it either. Truly the best of both worlds! Would recommend it to pretty much anyone!

Hello Disc is so hard to get in. But I have had no leaks and it is comfortable. I trimmed the tab to one and I like that better than having it flipped. I tried the flex disc before this and it was so easy to get in but terrible to get out.

Life changing! I have been using a cup for almost 10 years. And would never go back to traditional period products. But recently after getting off of hormonal birth control my period is very heavy. I wasn't able to go more than a couple hours without having to empty my diva cup. It was so discouraging. I found period nirvana on IG and gave period shop a try. I am so happy I did. I first tried a larger capacity cup but found it uncomfortable. I went back on and ordered the hello disc. So happy I did!! It is amazing. So much easier to insert, and empty. The capacity is great and I can go 6-8 hours again. Thank you period shop!

I LOVE the Hello Disc! I have tried cups in the past but could never find one that really worked for me (insertion and removal were never easy). I tried the Nixit disc, which was better than the cups but could be hard to remove and would occasionally autodump if I sneezed/coughed/moved the wrong way (not ideal if you’re at work). This is the first reusable period product that is super easy to insert AND remove, and doesn’t leak unless it’s literally full to the brim (I have to autodump multiple times on my heaviest day—copper IUD problems). My only (very minor) complaint is that it stains like nothing I’ve ever used before—unclear if it’s the color or the material itself. Otherwise, it is perfect for me. I plan on using the the Hello Disc until menopause!

I unfortunately was not able to get the disk to work for me. It was leaking fairly often. I did watch positioning videos but even after a week of trying the leaking continued. It also seemed to make the area puffy and swollen. It could just be my anatomy but unfortunately it did not work for me :(
Kalaya R.
Let me start by saying I love menstrual discs. I love the ease of removal and the non-leak aspect.
My only struggle is I have inflammatory arthritis in my hands so the hardness of the disk makes for a persnickety insert and often I find it slipping around from springing open from the fold method. I was an iggy disk (the OG, not the iggy2) and loved the perfect ratio to firm but soft foldability. I will continue to use this disk but look forward to the future of having a firm to soft option!
Jami D.
I have tried other cups but had the hardest time getting them out. This one is SUPER easy to remove with the tab. I am totally sold! I love it!
Kristen H.
I love this disc so much!! I’m a first time user and I haven’t had any problems with it yet. It’s so amazing and I definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone! I kinda have a slight problem getting it in, but with practice it’ll get easier ☺️
Lauren T.
I LOVE this disc! It has been my Goldilocks when it came to the discs I have tried. It fits so well and I love the tab and how versatile it is.
Mallory W.
Oh, how I wanted to love this! The design is *awesome*; removal was mess free, the shape of the bowl of the disc was great (didn’t hang down too far and more of a true circle), and zero leaks! Unfortunately, the disc was just a bit too large/firm for me (noticeable pressure) and it seemed to get snagged on my cervix during removal, which was a bit uncomfortable. I know I am probably in the minority on this (I think I just have one heck of a low cervix) but just a heads up for those who prefer a softer disc. But, if there is ever another version of this that is a bit smaller and/or softer, I would buy it in a heartbeat! This is truly a one-of-a kind disc and I would love to see more variations of it.
Lauren M.
Love it. My long time cup just hasn't been comfortable and leaky since I had a baby. I tried a bigger size and that hurt even more. I decided to try this disc.
It's so comfortable and easy to insert. Stays in place and I'm only sorry I didn't pick this up sooner. :)
Zahria W.
I truly am in love. I’ve been using my saalt soft cup but I was having a hard time with leaking due to my cervix constantly changing positions. I would leak because my whole cervix wouldn’t be in the cup. I have to say with this disc I have absolutely NOOOO leaking whatsoever. It truly is so simple to put in and take out compared to my cup. I am a forever disc girl. One thing that was interesting with this disc was the auto dump feature. It took some getting used to because you have to be ready to empty it. It will come pouring out once you start to remove it. I just make sure I wear a disposable glove to remove. When I wear this disc I have 100% confidence I won’t leak. Also, it doesn’t affect my bladder. I have a sensitive bladder and I had no issues. 10/10 recommend. Best purchase ever. This is great for a first time user too. It’s so simple.

After 6 months of using the Hello Disc, I have to say I have finally reached period nirvana. Being my first time disc user in my early 40s and squeamish about blood, it wasn't as bad as I imagined it to be. Right off the bat, the Hello Disc is very comfortable to wear (and if there's pain anywhere, it means you didn't insert it properly! Try to remove and reinsert) and like every single review here, I don't feel anything and with my heavy, chunky periods, the Hello Disc can last up to 5 hours during the day on my heaviest day and at night, I also wear an overnight ultra thin pad as a backup just in case. But so far, no leaks at all (obviously after I've figured out how long I can wear my disc without leaking and after mastering proper insertion during the first 2 periods). I'm super happy with the Hello Disc and the pull tab is just brilliant. I wear the tab flipped as I too find that to be most comfortable for me. My Hello Disc did not stain at all as I always rinse it out with cold water after wiping off the blood with toilet paper and wet wipes and it did not rotate during normal activities. The Hello Disc is truly life changing for me. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful product and thank you for the many videos you have provided on YouTube as it has helped me a lot with troubleshooting, folding, etc.! God bless you!

Used to be an avid cup user, switched to discs. The Nixit didn't fit quite right but the Cora has been my Goldilocks. Until now! Kim has really come through with this disc design. Love the pull tab for keeping my hands less messy on removal, which is the only (small) con of a well-fitting disc in my experience. Definitely give this one a try.
Lauren T.
Wow! I had never used a cup or disc before and despite my research, I was still nervous when this one arrived. That being said, I have been blown out of the water by how well this disc works. There was definitely a learning curve with my first two uses, but after that, the rest of my period was smooth sailing. If you’re a first time disc user, this one is great to start with. I am so thankful for a product that doesn’t leak and resources like Period Nirvana!
Khristina S.
I like the quality of the Hello disc BUT please make smaller sizes for lover cervix gals!
Madison L.
I absolutely love Period Nervana for being so trustworthy and sharing videos on youtube over various reviews of different kinds of cups and discs! I finally found the perfect fit for myself
Ileana C.
I have been using a cup for a while now and I decided to switch to this disc, and it might be my new favorite product! The pull tab is perfect for making the disc usable and it is definitely the perfect beginner reusable product
Danielle S.
The reusable disc works wonders! I'm on day 2 (heavy day) and it's so easy to clean out and insert back in. Love that it can be reused again. I've tried the disposable flex disc so I knew that this would be good to try out

I thought I had found the best menstrual product ever (after trying cups unsuccessfully) and ordered it from Period.Shop. In fact, I reviewed it here and was absolutely amazed by it, but I can't seem to edit that review, so I'm making a new one. The first few periods I tried it, it was great — true period bliss at managing my heavy flow — I could wear it for an hour and a half before having to empty it on my heavy days (never managed to get it to auto-dump). It's been about six(?) months since buying it. Last period, though, it started to completely flip/invert after being inserted, obviously catching no blood, and I got blood everywhere trying to get it out — thankfully it had a pull tab so I could eventually coax it down far enough to find that after bearing down. It's become so unreliable and about 90% of the time I try to use it, it completely inverts/flips itself. This was not a problem in earlier periods because it used to just fit like a glove and I have checked to make sure I'm inserting it properly. And I gave it so many chances because the advice online said the problem was me and not the disc. Multiple times praying I could find the pull tab so I wouldn't need to visit acute care! It's definitely the disc. Nothing works — it just twists around and flips like it's floating. I'm switching to disposable pads (heavy days) and period underwear (light days) because the suction from cups is uncomfortable and I have a high cervix/tons of issues getting them out. My flow is so heavy that sometimes tampons come loose from the string because they're too saturated. I thought this was a great match but it's actually awful.
Melissa J.
This is my first time using a disc/cup, but I felt comfortable enough to make the switch after watching most of the videos and doing the quiz. The quiz suggested I try the Hello Disc and the Kind Cup, which I purchased both. The disc was easier for insertion for me, so I stuck with it. So far, I have been loving it! I still need a bit more practice for removal, but overall, I haven't experienced any leaks or any other issues! Thank you, Kim!
Katrina B.
I have been using menstrual cups for a long time, almost 20 years when the choices were Diva, Keeper and Mooncup. My periods have gotten heavier and I’ve tried a lot of cups and they stopped working for me. Leaking, uncomfortable, would have to empty and fuss with them too often. I’ve tried a few different disks, and they would pop out from behind my pubic bone or be so small they wouldn’t hold enough. This one seems to be ALMOST perfect. I’m still getting the hang of removal since it sits so snugly behind my pubic bone, I have to gently wiggle it out of it’s a blood bath. Made the mistake of just pulling the tab and hoping it would dump out from behind but it would splash out the front. Obviously, it doesn’t auto dump for me. I only wish it had a bit more capacity because on heavy days I still need to empty every 3-4 hours, which is better than anything else I’ve tried.
Elliot P.
I freaking love this disc. I’ve tried four cups and have always had leaks, or a hard time removing them, or getting them in, or they’re uncomfortable. I have a pretty high cervix and this disc has been amazing. With the loops dropped I can get it out easily without any squatting or gymnastics, ha! Hasn’t leaked at all through 12hr workdays on my feet, workouts, etc. Truly hooked on this and will probably never go back to tampons. And bonus points because it’s not gendered!
Jessica O.
Love it best one yet holes lot new favorite
